SAC Composition – Returning Members & New Memberships-At this time we would like to invite anyone who is interested in joining SAC as a voting member to raise their hand. We are also looking for 2 parents- one for the ESE rep. and one for the Gifted rep. You must have a child in the program to be the representative. Please introduce yourself- name and grade of your child. Please remember there is a meeting commitment. Attendance is important as we can only honor 2 excused absences a year. After new members read list of expired membership.

SAC Positions- According to the SAC Bylaws voting for the following positions is to take place every year. I know there are a few people that might be interested, but there were no “official” nominations submitted to me prior to this meeting. That being said, “Are there any nominations from the floor?” Take nominations… Make Motion…Vote

o SAC Bylaws- I attached a copy of the SAC Bylaws to the email reminder about the meeting. Each year SAC needs to approve these Bylaws. Last year we made the following changes. At this time are there any proposed changes to the Bylaws?

o School Improvement Plan- Accreditation-ASSIST Self-Assessment- As part of the district initiative for their 5-year accreditation, last year several people completed the Self-Assessment and SAC also took part in Accreditation training. As Broward prepares for becoming the first district to achieve district-wide accreditation three times in 2016, we will be completing the Self-Assessment again this year. If you are interested in completing the Self-Assessment, please sign-up on the sheet I am sending around. Results of the Self-Assessment will be shared at the next SAC meeting.
o SAF Positions – As you know, Ms. Allen has moved on from VSY that means we are looking for a new SAF Chair. SAF chairs attend the SAF meetings and Area Advisory meetings and report the information back to SAC. They can attend the meetings remotely if needed via the bridge – phone conferencing.
