PUBLIC HEARING

Call To Order: 7:02pm
Application #13-09 from the Village of Aurora for renovation of the VillagePark Stairway and new Post Office facade (Tax Map #181.16-1-13.1 and #181.16-1-16)
Ms. Bates asked for public comment and Mayor Bennett, speaking as a village resident and neighboring property owner, requested that Aurora Inn Inc. provide a significant buffer, such as railings,for safety reasons, between the parking lot and the new stairway. Per Mayor Bennett, there is currently nothing preventing cars parked on the south side of the parking lot from going over the slope onto the new stairway. Mayor Bennett explained that new bushes are also planned along the stairway for privacy between her personal property and access to the VillagePark.
SEQR PROCESS (Completed SEQR is available in the Village Office)
When questioned by the Board on potential erosion issues,per part II question 6, Mayor Bennett explained a new French drain and gravel will be installed.
On motion by Pat Bianconi, seconded by Alan Connors, the Planning Board made a Negative Declaration for Application #13-09.

On motion by Alan Connors, seconded by Pat Foser, the Public Hearing was closed at 8:15pm.

Ms. Bates opened the regular meeting of the Planning Board at 8:16pm. All present remained.
MINUTES
On motion by Pat Bianconi, seconded by Pat Foser, the Planning Board voted to accept the Minutes of April 24, 2013.
AYES: Bianconi, Connors and Foser.
NAYS: None
ABSTAIN: Bates
Motion carried.
VISITOR RECOGNITION
Ms. Bates welcomed Mayor Bennett.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Clerk Balloni informed the Planning Board members of training in Cortland on Zoning Review, Site Plan Review, and Special Use Permits on Monday, June 3rd beginning at 5:00pm.
OLD BUSINESS
Application #13-09 from the Village of Aurora for renovation of the VillagePark Stairway and new Post Office facade (Tax Map #181.16-1-13.1 and #181.16-1-16)
On motion by Pat Bianconi, seconded by Alan Connors, the Planning Board voted to refer the safety issues and necessity of a railing between the parking lot and Village Park Stairway to the Village Code Enforcement Officer, Michael Piechuta.
AYES: Bates, Bianconi, Connors, and Foser.
NAYS: None
Motion carried unanimously.
On motion by Pat Bianconi, seconded by Pat Foser, the Planning Board voted to send Application #13-09 to the Cayuga County Planning Board for mandated GML 239, l & m review.
AYES: Bates, Bianconi, Connors, and Foser.

Motion carried unanimously.
Short Term Rental Policy
Pat Foser is continuing to research Short Term Rental Policies of small college towns similar to Aurora.
On motion by Pat Bianconi, seconded by Alan Connors, the Planning Board voted to adjourn the meeting at 8:30pm.
