Viking Minor Hockey Feb 17, 2016
Meeting called to order at 7:04 pm.

Melanie read the Secretary Report. Melanie moved that the secretary report be adopted as read. Seconded by Lindsay Quinton. All in favor, motion carried.
Treasurers report- Total revenue was $64829.60, total expenses for the month $83524.23. Total in all accounts $164802.83. Still waiting for Casino cheque. Hoppies moved that the treasurer’s report be adopted as read. Charla seconded, all in favor, motion carried.
Team Reports
Initiation- Held their home tournament the first week of Feb. It was very successful. Have 2 or 3 league games left to play.
Novice-Having a strong season. Still undefeated. 4 league games left and then League tournament in Castor first week of March.
Peewee Boys- Played a couple of Provincial games. Had a couple tough weeks, have a couple games left.
Bantam Girls-Going well, have a bye the first round of playoffs. Going to Provincials in Hinton on March 17. Finished 3rd in regular season play.
Bantam Boys-Lost out of provincial playoffs in the first round. Team is currently 8-8-3. Have had some coaching issues, will be discussed in new business.
Midget Girls-Started playoffs are currently 4th in the league. First round will be played against Lac La Biche.
Midget Boys-Going to Provincials in Oyen second weekend in March. Have a couple league games left. Team is currently top in the league.
Sponsorship- Thank you letters will be sent out shortly.
Reffing-have not heard anything. Need to follow up on whether or not evaluations have been done on refs. Had an issue at Initiation tournament. Ref did not show up. Need to make sure each team has list of refs at the start of the season to insure it doesn’t happen in the future.
Raffle-all tickets for the cash raffle have been sold. All the money has been collected. Draw will be held this Friday at the Town Office. Did not end up putting an ad in the paper.
Discipline- Nothing to report
Scheduling- nothing new to report.
Registrar-All tax receipts have been sent out. Looking for a new Registrar, Charla is done her 2 year term.
Equipment- Handed out Jerseys at the Minor Hockey Day. Lots of large Jerseys left. We will be donating remaining jerseys.
Player Development- nothing new to report.
Hockey Day- Feb 6- Went well. Did not have fire because of wind.
New Business-
Power Skating- looking at programs for next year. This past year we paid per kid, cost was $15000 to Adam Huxley and Amanda Nordstrom. Randy looked into getting Tim Greene next year. Cost is $160 per Session. 10 week program would cost $6400. Will discuss further at next meeting.
First Aid Kits- make sure every team checks them. Managers should check to make sure there is nothing missing. Also need to make sure we have blankets on hand for possible injured players. Need to have someone order supplies as needed.
Ref Evaluations- need to talk to Peter to make sure these are being done.
Newspaper Team Articles- directors need to make sure that each team is submitting to the paper. It is one of the stipulations in the sponsorship letters.
Hockey Camp- Randy attended the Town Council meeting. We are looking at 3 different groups to put on a hockey camp in the weeks following the Brettsky Tournament. Looking at the week of July 5-10. Ice will be going in for June 17-19. Last day of School is June 28, need minimum commitment by that date. Ice fees will be around $120/ hr. Lindsay Klein made a motion to look into Tim Greene and Adam Huxley to put on the hockey camp. Charla seconded it, all in favor, carried.
AA hockey- Viking is being moved from Camrose to Wainwright. If anyone has concerns with this, please let Randy know before the end of Feb.
Online registration- Looking at doing online registration with Ramp. What are the cost/ fees attached? Signup fee of $49 with a $15/ month fee and possibly a transaction fee. Tracy will look into it for next meeting.
All teams where paid their parent participation incentive money.
Next meeting is March16, 2016 at 7 pm. Only executive and board need to attend.
