VIKING MEMO FROM PRINCIPAL HASTY

Attention Oakmont Students!

This is a message from Principal Hasty asking you as an Oakmont Viking to be mindful of your surroundings when you are parking in and around the Oakmont neighborhood. Please remember that when you are parking in the Oakmont neighborhood, you are still a member of Oakmont High School, and your actions and behaviors reflect our school’s integrity. Consider our Viking Expectations!

  1. Choose Respect: Please be sure that you are respectful of other members in our community, especially when you are parking in front of their homes. Remember to use proper language, refrain from using any profanity, and be cognizant of the volume of the music in your car.
  2. Be Responsible: Again, remind yourself that you are parking in front of peoples’ homes. Pick up after yourself, avoid littering and throwing trash on the ground, and be sure you are parking in an appropriate parking spot that does not block others driveways.
  3. Have Integrity: Remember our school ethics and take note of our intolerance for use of drugs and alcohol. Any substances prohibited at school are also prohibited in the surrounding community. Have pride in yourself and your school by maintaining a drug free environment on and off the Oakmont campus.
  4. Actively Engage: Support our efforts by actively engaging in these basic principles, and encourage others to do the same. If you see a friend not following the guidelines, please kindly remind them of our Viking Expectations, and always know that our Oakmont Staff is here to help.

Please remember, we hold our students to these high standards because we take pride in our students and our school, and we know you do too!

GRADUATION REQUIREMENT
Please remember that as a part of your graduation requirement you’re required to complete the RJUHSD online Personal Finance course. This class must be completed in order to graduate. We recommend starting this course now and completing it sooner rather than later…….don’t put it off. If you have questions, please see your counselor or Mrs. Price.
