VIDEO PERMISSION ENGLISH 1A

Of Mice and Men Mrs. Cook

Dear Parent/ Guardian:

On Friday December 5 and Monday December 8 your student will have the opportunity to view the movie version of the novella Of Mice and Men in their English 1 class. The movie appears on the approved list of the school district; this notification is to inform you that we will be able to view the 1992 color version starring Gary Sinise and John Malkovich, PG-13 rating. This version considerably tones down the language of the literature which is still mild in comparison to other PG-13 movies that your student may have seen.

____ My student ______has my permission to view the video with the class. Movie notes for each day will be turned in at the conclusion of the video.

_____My student ______DOES NOT have my permission and will instead spend the class time further researching the theme, setting, or history of the literature. A two page summary of their findings will be turned Tuesday December 9, 2014.
