Research Analyst Intern, 2008 – Present

  • Analyze hospital discharge datasets, behavioral risk factor datasets, and demographic datasets to determine variation in risk factors and hospitalizations across Vermont
  • Perform regression and categorical data analysis on Vermont Medicare claims datasets to understand the population using Medicare and the services used
  • Perform analysis and draft sections of the VPQHC Annual Quality Report (audience: Vermont legislature, potential funding organizations, general public), including chronic illness, mental health and substance abuse, and hospital variation chapters.

Graduate Research Project, UVM 2009 – Present

As part of a collaborative team from the UVM Business School and UVM College of Medicine

Project: Analysis of the Vermont Board of Nursing annual RN and LPN Surveys

Responsibilities: Perform longitudinal analysis of the annual RN and LPN Surveys to test hypothesized changes in nursing populations as a result of the recent economic downturn, focusing on trends in the older workforce.

Poster presentation, March 2010, UVM Center for Aging; publication anticipated in 2011.

Graduate Research Project, UVM 2008 – Present

In association with researchers at Fletcher Allan Health Care (FAHC), Burlington VT

Project: Quantify the effectiveness of the Rapid Response Team implemented at FAHC in January 2008

Responsibilities: Use logistic regression modeling to establish which of eleven criteria used to trigger Rapid Response Team action are significantly associated with cardiac arrest on ward.

TA for graduate level courses in linear and multivariate regression and statistics for quality and productivity
