DOT POINTS - Wednesday 23.04.2015
Vice President Geoff opened the meeting at 7.00pm and welcomed all.

Service hours this week – Robyn and Annette – 2 hours each on Anzac Day.
Attendees– Greg and Meg Fallon, Geoff and Lorelle St Clair, Allen and Mary Hunter, Wendy Thomas, Wayne Kemmis, Camilla Barker, Robyn and Annette Bailey, Peta Higgenbottom, Peter Fitz, Pam Fallon, Steven and Patricia Bennett, Peter Cox and Ros Hurn. (Anyone left out I apologise)
Behind the Badge – Lorelle St Clare
. was brought up at Bardon (suburb of Brisbane)
. parents were into rock collecting – this was a big part of my early life
. went to teachers college at Kelvin Grove in Brisbane
. 2nd year of teaching was transferred to Mt Isa and this is where I met Geoff
. we did lots of camping on weekends – up to gulf, Karumba, etc.
. 1979 decided to do remedial teaching so did 6 month course
. Geoff transferred to Townsville
. next year married - 1980
. lived in Townsville then Thallon and then back to Townsville then to Burdekin where the dam was being built and started a new township while dam was being built
. transferred then to Gayndah – about 4 hours north of Brisbane
. 1989 transferred then to Gatton
. first son was born – now 30
. always lived in Principals residences so decided to purchase a home after many years – 6.5 acres outside Gatton (plenty of room for all to visit and stay)
. holidays mostly spent camping – had tents, camper trailer, 30 year old caravan and in 2009 purchased current Boroma caravan
. holiday and travel mainly with Geoff’s brother Doug (DG elect for 9630) and his wife Sue
. best holiday was in 2011 when travelled around Australia
. try and arrange overseas holidays every 2 years
. now retired – was remedial teacher (now called support teacher) but position became more of an administration position so left with no regrets
. since retired camping, some craftwork and now renovations
. plants have been neglected
. have good group of friends
. have Josie who is Geoff’s little treasure
. Geoff joined Gatton Rotary, Lorelle awarded a PHF in 2009 for work in YEP and other Rotary community work
. Geoff left in 2010 as he had other interests - new job and travel – away from home extended periods
. Nomads came up so joined – love meeting all, friendship, fun and community helping
. Sons live in New Zealand and Mackay
. Have wedding in Mackay and baby due in NZ – both on same day in June so busy times ahead.

. Geoff worked through the document
. Geoff - we need a service web page or document and list projects on that, and members would just click on the link.
. We need a broad range of service options to suit the diverse needs of our members.
. All suggested programs were divided up into categories for discussion purposes only:-
- National projects
- Existing projects
- Twice Yearly Musters
- Ongoing Service projects
- Opportunities with Local Rotary Clubs or other Clubs.
Discussion about club projects -
. Peta commented we need separate committees and people allocated in charge of these committees – mainly to get all involved so not left out.
. Wendy suggested Blaze Aid
. Lorelle – make sure we promote ourselves amongst ourselves
. particular projects need grouping
. web document for everyone.
General Business
a) District Assembly for 9630 – 17th May at Ipswich or 7th June at Roma.
b)Sunday 3rd June – The District is holding a Flea Market stall in Toowoomba (classic car event) at the old airport. Selling mini tractors for “Fergies for the bush”. Hunters & Fallons staying at St Clairs in RVs. Other members invited to attend Sarturday & Sunday nights – plenty of room. (Let Geoff know). BBQ Saturday night.
c)Peter Fitz – will be putting forward the Business Plan to the Board in the near future.
