Shuttleworth Race Day – Period Paddock Static Display - Vehicle Entry Sunday 1st October 2017
Veteran, Edwardian and Early Vintage Cars and Motorcycles.
Pre-1939
Richard Ormonde Shuttleworth was only 31 years old when he was killed but during a life in which he was passionate about vintage cars, aviation, farming and racing he had located, purchased and restored 14 veteran cars and half a dozen veteran aeroplanes.
During his years racing he drove Bugattis and Alfa-Romeos culminating in his greatest racing achievement by winning the 1935 Donington Grand Prix, before surviving a 140mph crash in South Africa in 1936.
At the age of 24 he had flown in a tiny monoplane to India and twice completed in the Kings Cup Air Race.
Richard Shuttleworth’s passion for everything fast and loud is constantly being re-visited here at the Shuttleworth Collection and on Sunday 1st October 2017 we will be hosting our second Shuttleworth Race Day to celebrate Richard Shuttleworth’s passion for racing cars.
We are looking for Veteran, Edwardian and Early Vintage Cars, pre 1939 that can be displayed at the event to provide a great atmosphere for our visitors.
