Objective
Validation of individual knowledge, skills and qualifications permits to fully or partially earn a degree by validation of individual prior learning at work, charity, individual activities and interests to comparable university level, evaluating the modalities, the duration and the curriculum. All studies can be subject to knowledge and skills controls and exams.
Application for individual validation and prior learning assessment PLA
The candidate remits a dossier or portfolio as part of the application for the individual validation to the Universidad Azteca Dean of European Programmes concerning the demanded degree. The dossier names precisely the pursued degree. The demand for professional certification is accompanied by an application for admission to the demanded degree.
The candidate can apply to the university a maximum of three validation applications, one at each higher education cycle of Bachelor, Master and Doctor for one respective discipline, study area or concentration, with one application.
The candidate must enclose to the dossier:
- The diplomas, degrees, certificates and all other relevant professional qualifications with diploma supplements, transcripts or student grade records permitting the jury to evaluate the nature and level of these studies. In case the studies were accomplished outside a European country the dossier must describe in an annex the degree and the transformation of the credits into ECTS credits.
- A portfolio of individual experience outlining the comparability to higher education courses and skills.
- A curriculum vitae. It must explain with reference to the prior degree the skills and knowledge acquired during the course of studies as far as validation is demanded.
Scope of the application
The following degrees awarded are subject to Individual Validation PLA: Bachelor (3 years), Bachelor (4 years), Master, Doctor.
The study area and discipline must be offered by Universidad Azteca for university own degree programmes acc. to Article 59 of the General Law of Education in Mexico.
Jury forPLA – Individual Validation
The Jury for Individual Validation PLA is the jury for the demanded degree. The jury decides on the examination of the dossier presented by the candidate evaluating the skills and knowledge that have been declared as acquired with regard to the degree requirements for the award of the demanded degree. The jury decides whether to award the degree in full or to recognise partial studies and qualifications and require additional examinations for the award of the degree.
Communication of the decision of the Jury
The Dean of European Programmes issues an admission evaluation report ruling on the professional certification, and in case of partial validation the name and nature of validated courses of study and the courses of study and exams to be passed. The Dean of European Programmes notifies the candidate on the decision.
Application of the décision of the Jury
Universidad Azteca will
- in case of full validation of the qualification proceed with the award of the university own degree on the candidate;
- in case of partial validation admit the student to a programme of study to complete the requirements for the award of the respective degree.

Special Note:Universidad Azteca International Programs evaluate courses taken submitted for transfer credit according to several factors. These include the previous school’s recognition, the content, level, and age of the course, and whether the credits are appropriate to our university standards towards degree program. Only courses in which a grade of C or higher is earned will be transferred. Transfer credit may count toward meeting the requirements for a degree, but it will not count toward the grade point average. We make an initial determination regarding the transferability and equivalency for courses submitted for transfer. Students are required to disclose that they have taken such courses on their application and are required to submit official transcripts from Source Institution of all work to the Office of the Registrar. Neither Universidad Azteca, nor any of its affiliates and members under no circumstances are responsible of the academic, administrative or financial process before the date of this International Student Application for Credit Transfer.
