I would also like to express our sincere thanks to our Guest Speakers, who are going to high represent the 7 Thrust/High Priority Investment Sectors now in Bangladesh.

The objective of this event is to let you know our highly potential and emerging sectors where there is an enormous opportunities of local and Foreign Investment, As our economy has been growing fast with consistently positive GDP growth over the last couple of years. And, this august gathering is a great opportunity to expose, share and disseminate how economy has turned into a promising Business and Investment and Hub in this region.

Distinguished Guests,

The present government has set “Vision 2021” to move Bangladesh to a Middle Income Country (MIC) by 2021. To achieve the Vision 2021, the Investment needs to be grown by additional 10% from 28%-38% of GDP. We are confident that Vision 2021 will set the foundation for Bangladesh to become a major economy globally. Bangladesh’s economic performance is underestimated, and as such many feel that the economy may out-perform expectations due to sound economic foundation that has been achieved over the last 20 years. We believe that high growth rate of 8% - 10% on average in the coming years are achievable.

DCCI made a projection of GDP size of about US$ 1 trillion where per capita income would be about US$ 6,000 and we are expecting that the country will be one of the 30th largest economies in the world by 2030. To gain the vision 2030 and Double Digit Growth, the emerging Bangladesh needs additional 14% Investment of GDP. DCCI is confident that Bangladesh will achieve this growth due to our dynamic private sector, strong economic foundation and fundamentals, strategic location and, moreover because of our resilient people.

Distinguished Guests,

I hope today’s meeting will pave the glorious path for Bangladesh by increasing local and foreign investment and will help us to strengthen our voice for the ultimate prosperity of the country.

Before concluding, I would only reiterate the DCCI’s maxim: the Best of Bangladesh is Business. This is our spirit to move further, and in this respect we would very much appreciate the cooperation from the honorable guests.

Once again, I wish to express my deep gratitude to you all the honorable guests for being with us and making the meeting a meaningful one.

Thank you all again.

Mr. Hossain Khaled
