VENUE -In summer months, when the weather is fairly predictable, we can cater for up to 140 people utilizing the outside area (with a Bedouin tent) and the inside restaurant.In winter months, we can cater for up to 100 people inside café Roux. Should you have a dance floor, we can only seat 80 people inside.
VENUE HIRE - Our venue hire fee depends on how many guests we would be catering for. This covers the use of our Bedouin tent (which covers ¾ of the outside of our restaurant’s sitting area), all tables/benches, chairs, glasses and crockery etc.For 80 guests it would be R2000 and for 120 guests it would be R3000.
CEREMONY – should you be looking to have your wedding ceremony in the Noordhoek area, we are able to assist you with simple set-up on the grassed area of the Noordhoek Farm Village, bordering on café Roux. The Noordhoek Farm Village charges a rental fee of R500 to use this area. Should you require seating, you would need to bring in all your own chairs or benches. Alternatively, we can also assist you with setting something up on the nearby Noordhoek common. Both of these have no formal covering, so you would need to provide some form of tent should the weather be bad.
MENUS – we offer a wide selection of menu options ranging from simple canapés, curry or seafood buffet options, to basic burgers/pasta/salads to a 3-course dinner with Linefish/lamb shank. Prices range from R110 – R200 per head. Please email for menu options.
DÉCOR - As a venue, we have both benches and tables with chairs, white table clothes and lanterns with candles, which you are welcome to use. Our Bedouin tent also has fairy lights all around the edge which looks great in the evening. You are welcome to bring in your own wedding planner to do your own flowers/table layout/décor. Should you bring in your own décorand require the venue more than 2 hours before the event, this will impact on our lunch trade and we would therefore need to re-negotiate a venue hire fee.
MUSIC - Being situated in a residential area, we are prohibited from playing music until all hours and have to stop all bands or DJ's at 12:00. The dance floor has to be inside the restaurant and we have to keep all the doors closed and the sound-proof curtains drawn while the music is playing. You are welcome to play background music outside while you are eating. We highly recommend using our resident café Roux band, Me & Mr Brown ( They perform on Sunday afternoons at café Roux.
SERVICE & PAYMENT – service is not included in the menu quotes. We require a 50% deposit before the function.
BAR FACILITIES – café Roux has a fully stocked bar facility. We are also able to set up a limited bar tab with the client, otherwise a cash bar set up. Our wine list provides a selection of easy-drinking, well-priced wines. You are also welcome to bring in your own wine/sparkling wine with a corkage fee of R30.
ACCOMMODATION – café Roux is conveniently situated next to De Noordhoek Hotel, a four-star boutique hotel with 20 rooms ( There are also a number of B & B’s and guest houses situated in the Noordhoek area.
