Minutes of General Membership Meeting
June 3, 2010
President Daemon Heckman called the meeting to order at 8:10 P.M. at the Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown, PA. The following were in attendance:

Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the May meeting were approved as issued.
Secretary’s Report
Bud reported that the only mail of interest received were the approvals from AKC.
Treasurer’s Report
Jerry reported that we currently have $11, 896.28 in savings and $618.73 in checking.
He also reported that we still owe Rau $138.79 for match ribbons and the money to the various supporting clubs for entries.
Committee Reports
Match
Nothing was reported. No one has stepped up to organize a match before our all breed show.
Education
Puppy Seminars
No new efforts were made to establish a new venue for these seminars.
Membership
Julie said that she will contact Leigh Davis and Marilyn Bratis to see if they are still interested in joining VFKC. Bud said that he will contact new members, Rod & Marta Beckstead, to see why they are not coming to meetings.
Delegate Reports
AKC
Carol reported that at the next delegates meeting, the AKC will read a proposal to lengthen the time required between board terms. The present requirement is two years between terms. It will be proposed to have four years between terms.
The AKC is talking about reducing the number of delegate meetings from the present four to three. Consideration is being made to drop the June meeting , which moves around from location to location.
PA Federation of Dog Clubs
Mary Jo reported that a Federation Meeting will be held at Cabela’s in Hamburg, PA on Thursday, June 17, 2010. An update will be provided on dog legislation activities and there will be a program on the canine herpes virus.
2010 All-Breed Show
Daemon reported that we now have AKC approval of our Sunday all-breed show and rally event.
Beverly was asked to provide an inventory of the trophy items she has left over from previous shows.
Bud said that he will reserve a block of rooms for judges at the Hampton Inn and he will contact the supporting clubs to see if any others (besides the Siberian Club of the Delaware Valley) are interested in having a match the day before our show.
Old Business
Beverly was asked to have the many mistakes on the plaques corrected by the trophy vendor.
New Business
Carol wants to rent or borrow VFKC gating for the Garden State Saluki Club obedience and rally match on July 17, 2010.
Carol mentioned that there is now a Robert’s Rules of Order for small organization meetings. She is going to get one for her Saluki club and said that she would get one for VFKC. Daemon indicated that VFKC really didn’t need one.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:27 P.M.

1. Carol Fisher is bragging for Missy who achieved her Supreme Gazehound Racing Champion 5 level. She is only the sixth sight hound to ever achieve this LGRA award and the first Saluki.
Carol is also bragging for flame who has two majors in AKC coursing and has earned her SC title.
2. Jerry and Linda Glick are bragging for Professor Hill who took a terrier Group I at the Lancaster Kennel Club Show on May 16, 2010.
3. Julie Gwin’s Phuture was Winners Bitch at the Monmouth County KC show. This was her first 3-point major.
Julie is also bragging for Phoenix who earned his Master Courser title.
4. Bud and Bev are bragging for Sophie (Snocrest’s Pretty Little Angel Eyes) who took Best of Opposite Sex in Sweeps at the Siberian Husky Club of the Niagara Frontier show in Batavia, NY.
They are also bragging for Dunkin (Snocrest’s Brewed to Perfection) who was the Winners Dog at the Chester Valley KC and Plainfield KC shows. The latter was a 3 point major and Dunkin’s first major. He won these shows from the puppy class.
