The Tesoros staff reserves the right to verify any messages and to reject any advertisement unsuitable for publication.
Some suggestions for ads
· We gladly accept “Camera Ready” ads. There will be a $20.00 charge to create custom ads (laying out, creating copy, etc.) “Camera Ready” ads are ready to be duplicated by the publisher. If you have questions about whether or not your ad is “Camera Ready,” please contact us.
· If not “Camera Ready,” please include instructions for photo placement, wording, and any other special instructions.
· Hand-lettering is acceptable, but for best effect, MUST be done in a fine black felt-tip pen.
· Do not write within a ½” margin around the border of the ad. It may become cut off as the page is trimmed. Photos can go to the edges of the page.
· Please do not staple or paperclip anything to the photos; it can damage your photos and leave marks.
· Please identify photos with your name or the student’s name. However, please do not write with ball point pen or pencil on the back of your photos; it leaves an imprint that can be seen on the front of the photo. To mark your photos, we suggest you purchase a photo pen made especially for writing on photos or write on a separate piece of paper or sticky note and attach carefully to the back of the photo.
· We suggest that you have a copy made of any photo that is irreplaceable, and that the copy be the one submitted for the ad. The best copies are made using photo paper. Color copies on regular paper are acceptable, but the photo quality suffers when reprinted in the yearbook and is inferior to those made on photo paper. There are many ways to reproduce the picture – scanning it and sending it to stores that have a photo department such as CVS, Walgreens, Target, Wal-Mart, etc. as well as using special photo copying machines that use photo paper (found locally in many stores including CVS, Wal-Mart, etc).
· If you are submitting an electronic version, the photos must be either .jpg or .tif and the page is 300 dpi @ final output. Please turn in the electronic version on a CD; we are not responsible for problems with ads sent via email.
· Ads and money MUST be turned in TOGETHER. It is your responsibility to make sure you have turned all the money and the ad by the deadline. This includes ads created by outside parties.
ALL ADS and MONEY MUST BE TURNED IN TO LISA SWEARINGEN (FINANCE CLERK, finance office) NO LATER THAN 3 p.m. on the dates listed, otherwise the higher price will be in effect. No ads or money can be accepted after the final deadline.
