Vacancy Location: AukiMalaita Province

Competency Required (skills, knowledge & experience): At least 5 years of extensive experience in the following:

  • Wide knowledge of company financial instruction
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Handle, resolve and promptly response to customer complaints and queries
  • Have knowledge of safety policies and regulations
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, policies and procedures.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
  • Be a team player and has supervisory skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Accountabilities – Category:

Finance:

  • Cash collected in all locations are banked on time.
  • Selling of phone cards over the counter are properly done and receipted.
  • Re-charging of phone card over the counter are properly done and receipted.
  • Perform spot checks on cashiers and petty cash custodians when required.
  • Daily Banking of cash according to standing financial instructions.
  • Accurate posting of daily cash taking and transactions.
  • Cash transaction copies are stored, filed and secure.
  • Sign off and certify actual daily cash collected and cash till summary report.
  • Western Region bank accounts are checked and reconciled monthly.
  • Check, verify, process Petty cash disbursements.
  • Ensure correct posting to appropriate cost centres
  • Prepare and submit weekly summary updates and monthly reports to management on the Departments Financials; and provide separate reports, as and when required by management.
  • Assist in managing the department’s budget, by monitoring the departments spend
  • Advice, on relevant cost cutting measures for the department.
  • Support all company policies, goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties/tasks as required by management.

Customer:

  • Ensure that suppliers and service providers invoices are authorized processed and paid in time.
  • Attend to customer needs, queries and issues and provide resolutions within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Liaise with Assistant Manager Malaita region in addressing customer issues.

Process:

  • Regular monitoring of transactions and banking in all Malaita Region.
  • Notify supervisor of incidences of procedural breaches including fraud.
  • Accurate posting of daily cash taking and transactions.
  • Regular reporting of financial matters to MMR.
  • Identify and provide advice where necessary which regards to STLC safety regulation

People:

  • Responsible working together with Manager Malaita region in ensuring that target are achieve within the financial year
  • Demonstrate team player and high collaboration within the team
  • Working with Manager Malaita Region in ensuring that performance is highly maintain in compliance with STCL Performance management policy
  • Maintains, updates staff personal records. Support all company policies, goals and objectives.

Performance Review: Our Telekom financial year begins on 1stApril and through to 31stMarch. Employee individual objectives are set out by the employee and line manager at the beginning of a FY by filling up the STCL Individual Objectives Plan document. First Performance Review is done after 6 months, the mid-year review which is on September and the final review, the end year review is on March.Ongoing review and discussion is done on a monthly basis between employee and line manager throughout the year.

Qualifications Required: Certificate or Diploma in Finance, Administration or equivalent from a recognise tertiary institution.

Personal Qualities:Friendly and outgoing personality, ability to work well as a team and also show their own initiative.
