Main purpose of job: / To be a key player in driving the Braes Quality Standards and Systems forward to achieve, maintain and improve the necessary requirements
For BRC and Customer accreditations.
Responsible for planning/developing and implementing techniques, systems and procedures for ensuring the desired level of quality for all products supplied by Highland Spring.
Responsible for supporting the site to resolve all quality related issues.
Ensuring compliance with legislative, accreditation and customer requirements.
Responsible for checking, booking in and control of Manufacturing Raw material stocks.
Stand in for the Manufacturing Team Leader on key aspects when required.

Main Duties:

Operations

  • Organisation of sample collection and delivery as required.
  • Completion of monthly KPI reports, RM stocktake and monthly reconciliation.
  • Covering for the Operations Team Leader by supporting the Factory Manager in making key site decisions as required during Operations Team Leader’s absence from site.

Technical

  • Manage/maintain and continually improve Quality Management Systems to meet accreditation and customer requirements.
  • Manage/maintain and continually improve the site HACCP Plan.
  • Ensure site meets all Technical legislative requirements.
  • Collate information and hold site Monthly/Quarterly and Annual Management Review Meetings, presenting information where required.
  • Manage and undertake site GMP, Brittle Material, HACCP and Internal Audits as per Annual Schedule.
    Manage effective sign off of non-conformances raised to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Verification/filing of records.
    Resolve any issues with completion of documents with operations.
    Manage system of easy retrieval.
  • Ensuring compliance with Accreditation and Customer COPs.
  • Management of finished product positive release system, review records upon receipt of suitable test results from Group Laboratory.
  • Manage & maintain site Calibration system.
  • Investigation of complaints, quality incidents (kiosk air) or quarantines and ensuring appropriate corrective/preventive action is taken in conjunction with Group Technical.
  • External enquiries:site involvement in conjunction with Group Technical Team where required.
  • Manage site Pest Control working closely with External Contractor.
  • Member of the Site Incident Team
  • Liaising with local EHO/TSO during inspection visits and routine sampling.
  • Good communication and interaction with Group Technical.
  • To interact with Operations to ensure that Technical considerations are given equal weight with other business/production priorities.
  • Provide Technical support to the rest of the site.
  • Supporting Operations Team in maintaining current systems in order to deliver excellent product quality.
  • Work with Operations to ensure compliance with accreditations and customer requirements are maintained at all times.
  • Work with Operations to ensure GMP and Factory Standards are maintained at all times.
  • Undertake Micro analysis of finished product when circumstances require.
  • Completion of other duties as required.

Key skills and requirements:

  • Industry recognised Intermediate HACCP and Food Hygiene qualification
  • Uncompromising but commercial attitude towards Product Quality, Housekeeping Standards and Health and Safety.
  • Ability to extract accreditation and customer requirements from key documents and produce and implement workable procedures and systems for the site to ensure compliance.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Analytical and Logical mind-set.
  • Self-motivated, well organised individual.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to motivate colleagues to adhere to Quality Procedures and Systems .
  • Ability to interact with other operations and other HSG departments at all levels to extract accurate information.
  • Ability to liaise with external customers in a professional manner.
  • Ability to make the decision to seek advice when needed.
