2010-2011

USTA/Northwest Ohio

Competition Training Center

The USTA/Northwest Competition Training Center (CTC) is once again in full swing. The CTC is a supplementary training program, for 14 and under players, that was established by the USTA/National Player Development office many years ago. Northwest Ohio has bee fortunate to have been awarded and maintained one of these centers over the years.

The 2010-2011 season kicked of in October at the Perrysburg Tennis Center and will be held monthly at various clubs until May. We would like to thank the following clubs for donating their courts for the CTC program: Perrysburg Tennis Center, Westwood Tennis Club, Baywinds Athletic Club, Shadow Valley Tennis Club and Laurel Hill Swim and Tennis Club. Without their support, this program would not be able to be offered to our junior players. This year’s CTC will conclude with a four way match against teams from Southeastern Michigan and Western Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The district is lucky to have many great coaches. The following coaches are participating in the CTC: Doug Linden (USPTA), Hannah Hager (USPTA), Bob Krueger, Chris Clark and Head Coach Mark Faber (USPTA). The administrator of the NWOTA CTC is Sheryl Birch.

This years CTC has player representation from all over Northwest Ohio. The players are selected for this program based on their position on the Midwest Standing list, tournament accomplishments and coach recommendations. The following players are participating in the 2010-2011 season: Nikiru Anig-Lima, Jason Barton-Lima, Grace Bennett-Maumee, Mike Bennett-Maumee, Lili Boyce-Ottawa Hills, Ben Brinkman-Lima, Kevin Brown-Perrysburg, Paige Collins-Lima, Stephan Collins-Toledo, Kaylee Davis-Spencerville, Degan Delp-Holland, Jake Guerrero-Sandusky, Akhil Katragadda-Sylvania, Emerson Hager-Wapakoneta, Soh Kuyama-Sandusky, Dev Laungani-Sylvania, Trevor Majdalani-Perrysburg, Teagan McNamara-Maumee, Mac McNernery-Sylvania, Steffen McNerney-Sylvania, Avinash Rajasekaran-Lima, Alicia Nahhas-Sylvania, Olivia Rohrbacher-Sandusky, Michael Rutter-Lima, Timothy Rutter-Lima, Ryan Simon-Ottawa Hills-Ryan Sprague-Bluffton, Reid Teatsorth-Findlay, AJ Woodman-Monclova
