Users’ Instructions for Silver Quantum Travel Clock with Alarm type TIM-220-320-3710
Insert/change the batteries:
· Open the battery compartment lid by sliding down and out the rectangular battery compartment lid located at the back of the clock below the small speaker slots.
· If replacing already installed batteries, pry them out by inserting a nail-file or similar tool at one end. Place two quality, alkaline batteries size AAA into the compartment, with each battery’s flat end against the metal springs. The clock will make one chime and speak the time as being 12 o’clock and will then speak the temperature.
· Replace the lid by sliding the side of the cover with 3 tabs back into the compartment and pushing it down into place
Getting to know the clock:
The long, chromed button in the centre on top of the clock is for getting a time and temperature report at any time.
The travelling clock has a folding cover over the display and 4 setting buttons. Open the cover by gripping the 2 side-tabs at the top of the cover and pulling it open. Rotate the cover 270o and it becomes a stand for the clock.
The clock has a liquid crystal display (LCD) which displays the time digitally as well as the temperature - in the display’s upper right hand corner.
There are four buttons on the clock’s front located below the time display, arranged horizontally; starting from the left they are Button 1, for changing the way time is expressed from a 24 hour clock to AM and PM, or back again; Button 2 is used for entering the setting modes for current time and/or alarm times; Button 3 is for adjusting the hours; and Button 4 adjusts the minutes.
Setting the current time and alarms:
1. Setting the current time:
Press Button 2 once. The clock will say, “Set time”. Move along to Button 3 and press it. Pressing the button momentarily will advance the hours one at a time and the clock will speak as it advances; holding down the button will cause the clock to chime once and advance the hours quickly and continuously, but the voice report will not sound until you release the button.
When you have reached the required hour number, move along to Button 4 and set the minutes in exactly the same way.
Once setting is completed, the clock will signal it has left setting mode by chiming once and speaking the current time. The display will then flash for 15 seconds to show it remains in setting mode. The display ceases flashing after this period and returns to time display mode.
2. Setting the alarm:
After setting the current time press Button 2 twice to set the alarm; the clock will say “Set alarm time.” The time on the display will flash and AL will appear between the hours and minutes. Set the hours and minutes for alarm by using Buttons 3 and 4 as you did above to set the current time.
After setting the alarm time, the clock will chime once and repeat the time set for the alarm. The display will then flash for 15 seconds to show it remains in setting mode. The display ceases flashing after this period and returns to time display mode.
3. Turning the alarm on and off
Press Button 3 once and release it: the clock will chime and say “Alarm on.” If you would like to turn the alarm off, then press Button 3 once more and release. The clock will then say, “Alarm Off.”
Please note: Whenever an alarm is activated a small bell icon will appear in the LCD, above the second digit of the 4-digit display.
“Snoozing” the alarm:
The alarm repeats a cuckoo sound and a voice report of time and temperature until it is snoozed or cancelled. When the alarm sounds, press the long button on the top of the clock and it will snooze for ten minutes.
Cancelling the alarm for today:
To stop the alarm while it is sounding, press any of the 4 buttons once. The clock will then reset itself and sound at the alarm’s set time on the next day.
Selecting whether or not to have hourly announcement of time:
If you would like the clock to remind you of the time every hour press Button 4 at any time while in time display mode. The clock will chime and display a sound symbol above the first digit of the display. You can cancel the feature by pressing Button 4 again and you will hear a chime and the sound symbol will disappear.
Please note: this hourly announcement of time, if selected, will sound only from 6:00am to 9:00pm.
Selecting the expression of time by 24 hour clock or AM/PM:
While in time display mode only, press Button 1 once only and release it: the clock will chime and display the time in either 24 hour mode or AM/PM mode; to change the mode just press the button once more and release.
Any Problems?
The clock’s sound volume will decrease and the display may become inoperative if the batteries need replacement.
