Create new users in Student Information (DASL) for districts that use EmpowerID/ CDAP.
**Note this document is subject to change pending future CDAP enhancements.

User accounts must now link to a Central user account in order for the user to be able to log into any of the ProgressBook Suite applications.Below are the steps to follow to create users and link to Central.

Only Central Administrators will have the option to link Student Information (DASL) users to a Central user account. If you do not have access to link accounts please contact NEOnet Student Services.

  1. Use Empower ID to create the users e-mail address/active directory account.
  2. Use CDAP to move the user account into StudentInformation (DASL)
  3. Log into StudentInformation(DASL). Once back in StudentInformation (DASL) go to Management » Security » View Users
  4. Search for the user you just moved over from CDAP/created a Central Account.
  5. Click the pencil to edit the user
  6. Verify the box with username, domain and Account Type are the correct Central account.
  1. Proceed to the User Roles, Staff Member Impersonations, and/or User Groups tab if you need to assign security access for StudentInformation (DASL)

Notes:

User Roles / Staff Member Impersonations
Assign the Role and the School combination to individual Users as needed to specify what screens and functions that User has access to. / Staff impersonation is the ability in DASL for a user to be able to do tasks as if they were the staff member that they are impersonating. Users can also impersonate all staff members in the school if so specified. Administrative staff uses impersonate all option most frequently. The Available Permissions affect Teacher Menu and EZ Query.

If the user needs a staff account please follow steps 8 through 14

  1. Go to Management » Security » View Staff Members
  2. Click the Go button next to Add Staff Member to
  3. Complete in all required fields
  4. Click Save
  5. Fill in the Staff Member Schools Tab
    Note: IMPORTANT! Job Functions also play a role in Gradebook/SPS. DASL Staff Members with job functions of All, Teacher, Principal, Secretary, Cafeteria Worker, and/or Counselor in a School Building (NOT District) will go over to Gradebook/SPS
  6. Click Save
  7. To associate the staff account to the user account go to Management » Security » View/Edit Staff Member Associations
    Note: The intent of the View/Edit Staff Member Associations page is to associate a User account with a Staff Member. TIP: If neonetda.org and username is missing on STAFF account this step has not been completed
