After ACE install, add manufacturers and express tools.

When Ace is installed only a few manufacturers are loaded into the parts catalog. The ACE software comes with many manufactures and many parts. The additional manufactures will need to be added to the default catalog by selecting from the list. To add more manufacturers to the default catalog follow these steps.

Use the Windows Control Panel to open the Add/Remove program window.

On the Autodesk AutoCAD name right click. Left click on the Uninstall/Change selection.

When the AutoCAD Electrical window has opened, left click on the Add or Remove Features selection.

Use the check boxes to select the manufacturers parts information you want to add or remove from the ACE default catalog. Note that the more parts in the catalog the slower the search routine will be.

Once you have selected the manufactures you want, click on the Next button. The next window will let you select the geometry for the models of schematic and panel components. Typically the selection for JIC will be enough but if you want to add more try JIS (metric) and NFPA (inches).

When you have made your selections click the Next button.

This shows the ACE Features that are loaded. Along with the standard ACE Features loaded you can add the Express Tools. The Express Tools are a set of tools developed by third party developers. They are not developed or supported by Autodesk but have been proven and are bundled with the Autocad software.

This will load the tools but it may not add a tab to the ribbon or the menu bar.

Click on Update button and finish the installations.

Start AutoCAD Electrical. There should be a tab EXPRESS on the Menu Bar to the right of the Help tab. There should also be an EXPRESS TOOLS tab on the ribbon. If the tabs are not seen the cui has not loaded.

To load the EXPRESS TOOLS cui, on the ACE command line type CUILOAD, click the Browse button and goto ACETMAIN.CUIX, select and load. You should now see the EXPRESS tab in the menu bar and the EXPRESS TOOLS on the ribbon.
