Objectives: By the end of the syllabus students will be able to:

  • Add 2-digit with 1-digit, 2-digit with 2-digit
  • Say and write 3 times table.
  • Counting in 3s: even and odd numbers
  • Read, write the time in ‘o’ clock in digits and words
  • Show the given time on clock face by drawing hands.

Activities:

  • Teacher will make number line floor mates up to 100. These mats will be used throughout the year for numbers’ drill with different activities.
  • Stair case will be used for the concept of ascending and descending. Students will be taken up and down on the stair case counting the steps in groups.

  • Addition of 2-digits(vertical/ horizontal form)

Activities:

  • Teacher will use different objects for the concept of addition.

Multiplication

  • Revision of 2 times table.

Time:

  • Reading, writing and drawing hands of Time in o' clock .
  • Drawing hands .

Activity:

Real and fake clock will be used for the concept of Time.

Mental math:

  • 1 digit with 1 digit of Addition and dodging table of 2&3.

Worksheets: 2 worksheets will be given with each concept.

Art

Activities:

  • Coloring practice on sketch book
  • Basic shapes ,explanation of shapes, types of shapes
  • Elaborated exercises of different shapes
  • Simple drawings with basic shapes ,(boy, girl, duck)
  • Paper quilled (simple animals duck, fish, butterfly, flower)
  • Additional work will be done on ARTLAND
  • Free hand painting.
  • Activity about life under water will be done for poster competition.

Computer (Practical)

CONTENTS:

(Continuity of Syllabuses A and B of Class Prep 2016-17, along with new topics).

1: Evaluation of Syllabus “A”.

2: Lesson on CD-Rom and how to insert any CD and play video.

3: Revision of Mouse parts and purpose of scroll wheel.

4: Lesson on Desktop Icons.

5: Focus on Microsoft Paint interface and its drawing bar tools and new built in shapes, i.e. line shape, curve shape and polygon shape. Control box

6: Focus on Control Box and Scroll Bar and its purpose.

7: Focus on Pencil tool and Calligraphy brushes tool for drawing and writing, along with Text tool for typing(recognition of tools are important to describe).

8: Focus on Text tool (for typing in MsPaint).

9: Revision of keyboard keys.

(Recognition of Enter key, Window or home key, Arrows keys, Space bar, Shift key, Ctrl key, Alt key, Caps lock key, F4 key and Backspace key and these keys will help in typing).

10: Learning of spellings of following computer words:

12: Types of computer, i.e. desktop computer and laptop computer.

ACTIVITIES AND SUGGESTED TASKS:

3: Drawing of different things with all tools of Mspaint in Drawing bar

4: To write above mentioned computer words with Pencil tool and Calligraphy brushes on paint page.

5: To Type mentioned computer words with text tool and within any built in shape.

5: To draw Pakistani flag with line built in shape and crescent moon with circle shape and five corners stars.

6: Practice of child’s full name with Pencil tool, Calligraphy brushes and text tool on drawing page (later name will be mentioned on the page of any drawing).

7: Practice of given scenery drawing and other in the lab:

Guidelines:

(1) Built in shapes can be used.

(2)Use of pencil tool

(3) Use of color from color box

8: To draw any figure with built in shape or with pencil tool and color the shape with all brushes except calligraphy brushes.

OBJECTIVES:

1: To develop sense of responsibility and confidence to do the given tasks independently.

2: How to start and shut down the system properly and keep the things properly before leaving the lab and follow the lab rules.

3: To encourage the students to ask questions to understand the task and start discussions on computer subject to work in groups (because students will have to work in groups to develop patience to wait for their turn and show good results).

4: Time management (twice a week periods will be taken of all sections of Class One).

5: Competition between groups to motivate students (stars or appreciation tags will be given)
