A nice position for a really experienced, trained, private service couple to work in the roles of cook/housekeeper & houseman/handyman/butler for a professional client, his wife and their 12 year old daughter. The family has 2 small dogs. The main residence is a fabulous 2-bedroom apartment on Park Avenue, but there is also a wonderful 3-storey property, situated on the water in the Hamptons, where the family reside from the end of June to Labor. At this time of year the family do entertain on occasion and thus the cooking must be of a good standard for small numbers. For larger numbers, the employers bring in outside caterers. The successful couple will be experienced in all housekeeping departments, cooking, cleaning, laundry, washing, ironing, serving, and caring for the home, overseeing contractors etc. Accommodation - there is a lovely suite available for the couple’s use in the Hamptons and in New York a 4th floor apartment with 2 bedrooms. A full maintenance staff is employed in the Hamptons and in New York a housekeeper who has worked for the family comes in from 9-3 5 days a week. HOUSEKEEPER/FAMILY COOK & HANDYMAN/GARDEN MAINTENANCE/DRIVER- Informal family with four small children aged 8 years down to 7 months This is a holiday home of approx 10-11,000 Square feet, just outside Grasse in the hills of Cannes. The property is only used for approximately 3 months of the year, of which- 2 months in the summer and the rest of the time to coincide with school holidays. Occasionally the family are in residence over Christmas and New Year. Close family members also use the property very occasionally between these times. When the owners are in residence the working hours will be 8-6pm with 2 half days off per week. These longer hours are only during the principals time in residence, outside these times is less demanding and the couple are expected to monitor and plan their own time.

The duties on a daily basis are all general housekeeping to include cleaning, washing and ironing and preparation of light, fresh healthy family food. There is a travelling nanny who accompanies the children, so very little childcare but as there are four children – the couple do need to enjoy the company of children.

The gentleman is required to have good handyman skills and be able to maintain the interior and exterior of the property. There is approx 3 acres of gardens, which includes lawns, flower beds and terraces around the swimming pool. Part of the gardens is Olive Trees and a tennis court which is maintained by external contractors.

The couple are required to have experience in domestic service, have energy, enthusiasm and a warm and happy personality. It is essential that the couple speak some French- well enough to communicate with local contractors.

Salary is 2,500 Euros per month ( Nett), 5 weeks holiday per year and one bedroom self contained apartment which has its own small terrace and garden. A car is provided for work use, but ideally the couple should have their own car for personal use. Small dog will be considered.(REF: HU0715)

VERBIER, SWITZERLAND – HOUSEMANAGER/BUTLER/CHEF/HOUSEKEEPER/HOST COUPLE OR TWO INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE CHEF/PERSON FRIDAY & BUTLER/PERSON FRIDAY - Fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced couple to run and manage this luxury 3000 square metre ski chalet that consists of 9 suites and a spar area (that includes a beauty therapist, doctor and nutritionist). The chalet is used privately by the family throughout the year and run as a business; therefore there will be long, busy periods especially during the winter. Between the couple, one must act as a butler providing first class front of house and F&B service with knowledge of fine wines and cigars. Super position for an experienced couple who must enjoy a rural and peaceful lifestyle and are self-starters. The property is an old “ Provence” style farm house with multiple terraces of different levels.

This is a second residence that is used relatively frequently for various periods of time. The lady of the couple needs to be an enthusiastic housekeeper, caring for the four-bedroom home, handling all the cleaning, laundry and ironing. There will be cooking ( either of the couple can cook) to dinner party standard for up to 10 people at a time, not on a daily basis, as the lady of the house does like to cook. However this is not an essential criteria as a chef can always be brought in for dinner parties or entertaining. Simple and fresh family cooking would however be required.

The gentleman of the couple needs to be confident in overseeing the gardeners who care for 200 acres of land, deal with outside contractors, clean cars, water plants, care for the swimming pool and pool house, and be a good DIY / handyman. Both candidates need to drive and speak French, one fluent. The clients are really looking for a couple that will stay 5+ years. Simple Italian and Mediterranean cooking required and hands on housekeeping to work alongside the current lady housekeeper and partner to assist in the gardens and grounds and help with the pool, undertake occasional driving to and from the airport. Large new construction of a beautiful high tec, 5 storey home, situated between Monteux and Lausanne.

The property should be completed for February 2009 and will require a residential couple to run and oversee the general management of the property.

The family of four includes 2 children of 13 and 11yrs, who will eventually use the house as their main residence, but in the immediate period the family will travel between other homes in Singapore, India and USA. There may be the occasional requirement to travel to one of the other residences for short periods.

The house stands in approx one acre of gardens which will be landscaped, with a pool complex and private driveway. A full time gardener will be employed who will report to the couple as will the daily housekeeper.

The residence will comprise of 3 suites, children’s rooms and additional guest rooms, a large professional kitchen, 3 reception rooms and an entertainment floor.

An experienced chef is required who has a very broad repertoire of cuisine, the principals are Indian vegetarian and are health conscious. The chef will be required to prepare Indian cuisine but training will be available for those willing to broaden their skills. They enjoy entertaining and will eventually host dinner parties and special events to include a variety of guests of varying cultures and nationalities. The chef will manage the kitchen and be able to stock, provision and cook on a daily basis, however as the principals will be traveling the chef should also have a willingness to undertake house management duties, manage the household budget and perhaps even undertake an airport run.

The housekeeper will be experienced in all domestic duties and although there will be additional assistance, this is a hands on role. The housekeeper should have the knowledge to care for fine fabrics and special finishes, be able to care for the wardrobes, arrange flowers and ideally serve at table.

At least one of the couple should drive. Conversational French essential.

Mature employers with multiple homes and extensive travel commitments require an experienced, self motivated handyman and cook to run and manage this lovely property in a very rural location on the Island of Jersey.

A large country home in approx 4 acres of beautiful gardens with four properties on the estate. Overall approx 16 acres some of which is farmed.

The estate manager will have excellent handyman skills and be able to direct and work alongside the 2 Portuguese gardeners who have been working on the estate for a number of years. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the property, be able to liase with contractors, suppliers and organise any quotes etc as required. There are 2 swimming pools – one indoor and one out, and a tennis court all of which will require maintenance.

The cook will be required to prepare fresh evening meals, probably 3-4 times per week, using fresh local produce and the vegetables and fruits from the gardens. You will be required to liase with the gardeners on seasonal produce and plan menu’s accordingly. The principals prefer good, fresh home cooking but they do entertain and have occasional dinner parties.

A cleaner has been employed for many years so you will only be required to care for the kitchen and no other cleaning duties. There will be errands to run, and light housekeeping duties on occasions.

There are 2 black Labradors, who are everyone’s friends and during the owners absence the couple will be responsible for the care of the dogs.

CASA CAMPANILLA, IBIZA, SPAIN - HOUSE MANAGER OR COUPLE. For special Hutchinson’s clients who own a large 8 bedroom hacienda, set in 80 acres of agricultural farmland in Ibiza, Spain. The property is owned by a couple, predominantly used between the months of June and September by the owners, their two young children and their friends/business acquaintances. It is in the process of being developed into a working farm. Oranges are grown mainly, but there is also a considerable number of other fruit tress including: lemons, pears, apples, pomegranates, almonds. These need to be treated and harvested appropriately. There are four gardeners and two housekeeping staff to be supervised between Monday and Friday. During the summer months extra staff is employed. The property is under continual improvement and this must be monitored closely at all times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - You will be required to be responsible for all household accounts – the current program being used is Quicken. Reports and receipts to be sent to the accountant and owner at the end of each month. In addition you will co-ordinate the following activities: general running of the household, checking all deliveries, any problems with plumbing, air-conditioning, heating, swimming pool etc. Opening and closing the house on a daily basis, whilst ensuring the property’s security at all times. Ensure the property is kept to a high standard of cleanliness and readiness at ALL times, as the owners enjoy long weekends outside of the summer season. You should be able to liaise with the family’s estate managers when required, particularly during periods of building work or work connected with farming activity. Also supervise any contracted staff working at the property.

The house should be run to a similar standard as a yacht during the summer season, providing excellent service (breakfast, lunch & dinner), superb laundry (sheets, towels, guest clothing etc). Household (guests should expect to have their bags unpacked, rooms cleaned in the morning and during the day, with turn-down at night). Swimming Pool and Terrace/Bar area is to be monitored regularly (e.g. no dirty towels, cleared floor from meals.) Extra touches: flowers, candles, toiletries to be provided and all alcohol will need to be ordered. You must be capable to employ extra staff during the summer e.g. barman, cleaners etc. Some staff will return from last summer. Ensure that the wine cellar is carefully managed. Keep an up-to-date inventory on items in the house, cellar and garden. Ensure that the Car/house etc Insurance is kept up to date.
