UPPER GREATSOUTHERN HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

The fifth week of fixtures saw many a close encounter for early part of the season.

The Sportspower Men A grade Warriors defeated All Blacks 1 goal to nil with the better players been Nick Corner, Chris Allen, Lachy Ward, Liam Sweeney, Tristan Lock and Jacob Reardon and Riffs defeated Olympics 3 goals to 1 goal. Better players were Wade Angwin, Rhett Ballard, Gareth Keeling, Nathan Squibb, Shawn Heil and Jack Nankivelle.

The Edwards Holden Men B grade saw Wagin defeat All Blacks’ 3 goals to 2 goals with goal scored by Dwight Kellow, Jack South, Jay Ward, Ashley Robinson and Toby Nicholas, Williams defeated Olympics 4 goals to nil with goals scored by Jon Hardie, Brendan Cowcher, Andrew Major and Jeremy Dickson, Dumbleyung defeated Riffs 3 goals to 1 goal with the goals been scored by Scott Angwin 3 and Corey Vogel 1 and final Warriors defeated Pingelly 3 goals to 2 goals with goal scored by Rob Rybarczyk 2, Ryan Hough 1, Mathew Dent 2.

In the Sportspower Women A grade we Warriors defeat Mighty Ducks 6 gaols to nil with better players been Cara Borthwick, Chloe Buzza, Isabelle Kilpatrick, Vanessa Perkins, Sophie Warburton and Keisha Thompson, Wagin and Williams had a 3 goal all draw with better players been Emily Holt, Penny Shackley, Kara Dohle, Renae Bransby, Tracey Price and Alana Ford.

The Edwards Holden Women B grade saw Robins White defeat All Blacks 3 goals to nil with goal scored by Leah Sieber, Holly Blechynden and Chloe Blight, Brookton defeated Williams 3 goals to nil with goals been scored by Holly Bassett, Ellen Walker and Sarah Slater, Wagin defeat Robins Red 3 goals to 1 goals with the goals been scored by Terri Spooner, Annette Quartermaine, Jen Bannerman and Steph Kendall and finally Wickepin and warriors had a nil all draw.

Our junior games had a variety of results with some great teamwork on show.

In the Lower School we Bulldogs defeat Devils 7 goals to nil with better players been Alex Jones, Jack Kensett-Smith, Zack Cook, Jude Corner, Maddie Andrews and Max Ballard, Stingrays defeat Dumbleyung 2 goals to nil with better players been Fletcher West, Neal Martens, Amelia Corasaniti, Evelyn Bennet, Sara Hansen and Sydnee Wright, Saints defeat Dingoes 3 goals to nil with the better players been Guillaume Van der Riet, Rohan Shepherd, Bryanna lee, Tommy Ramshaw, Wilson Dowling and Taialei McLeod, Williams defeated Brookton 3 goals to nil with better players been George Wright, Lachlan Fowler, Oliver Tinley, Hope Arrowsmith, Taylor Ferguson and Emily Blight.

The Middle school competition saw In the Upper School Competition we saw Leopards defeat Lions 9 goals to nil with goals been scored by Joshua O’Brien 3, Marcel Corasaniti 2, Trent Gumprich 2, Callum Watts 1, Lexie Hall 1. Cougars defeated Tigers 1 goal to nil with goal been scored by Jacob Mulcahy, Pumas defeated Panthers 8 goals to nil with goals been scored by Quinlan Paice 2, Maddi Spooner 2, Caleb dewing 1, Takayla Pense 1, Louise Quartermaine 1 and Kynan Spencer 1.

In the Upper School competition we saw Vultures and Collegians have a 2 all draw with the better players been Paddy Armstrong-Hetzel, Shawn Samson, Thomas Haythornwaite, Emmerson Smith, Preston Wright and Sam Martin. Ag Rangers defeat Toucans 4 goals to 1 goal with the better players been Liam Sweeney, Codey Watts, Joe Coldwell, Ruben Scheepers, James Hesse and David Phillips.
