A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Thomas Byme Strode.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Thomas Byme Strode, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Thomas Byme Strode, a native of Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky, traversed these earthly bounds on March 9, 2002; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Byme Strode was the loving son of the late Dr. Ernest Cole "Buddy" Strode and Mary Byme Strode; he was the devoted husband of Robin Strode, and he was the loving father of a son, Cole Strode, and he also leaves behind two loving brothers, James C. Strode and Richard F. Strode, both of Lexington; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Byme Strode graduated from Henry Clay High School in Lexington, and he earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Kentucky in 1969 where he was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Byme Strode was a former stock broker with W. E. Hutton and Company in Lexington; a former vice president and trust officer with The Winchester Bank, and a former vice president and trust officer with Farmers Bank and Capital Trust Company, and he later became managing partner of Fayette Cellular Partners; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Byme Strode was an active and involved citizen in the Central Kentucky community where he was an avid art collector; he was past secretary-treasurer of the Winchester-Clark County Parks board of trustees and past president of the Winchester Public Library board of trustees; he was a member of the Lykins Foundation board of trustees, chairman of the Capital Day School board of trustees, a member of the Bridge Street Token Club and CHIPS group, and president of the Frankfort Investment and Social Club; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Thomas Byme Strode has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Thomas Byme Strode, and extends to his family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Thomas Byme Strode.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Robin Strode, 20 Spendthrift Street, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
