A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of James Edward Perkins.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to James Edward Perkins, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, James Edward Perkins was born on April 3, 1920; and

WHEREAS, James Edward Perkins was the devoted husband of Stella Mae Perkins for 62 years; he was the adored father of a daughter, Jimmie Lynn Crisp, and he was the proud grandfather of four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and

WHEREAS, James Edward Perkins served his country with pride in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II; and

WHEREAS, James Edward Perkins served the people of his community by giving 37 years of dedicated service as an employee of the Ohio Valley Gas Company; and

WHEREAS, James Edward Perkins served his God as a devout member of the Northside Baptist Church for 61 years, serving as deacon and usher to his fellow believers; and

WHEREAS, James Edward Perkins was a gentleman in the truest meaning of the word; and

WHEREAS, James Edward Perkins was the soul mate and best friend of his devoted wife, Stella Mae Perkins; and

WHEREAS, James Edward Perkins loved and served three things, supremely: his God, his family, and his church; and

WHEREAS, James Edward Perkins was loved by all who knew him; and

WHEREAS, the passing of James Edward Perkins has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of James Edward Perkins, and extends to his family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of James Edward Perkins.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Fred Nesler for transmission to the next of kin.
