A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Cynthia Mason Kemp.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Cynthia Mason Kemp, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.

WHEREAS, Cynthia Mason Kemp was born on October 7, 1954, a native of Logan County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on February 19, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Mason Kemp was the adored daughter of Thomas R. Mason and Lorraine Strickler Mason; she was the devoted wife of Marshall Kemp, and she was the loving mother of Marshall Ryan Kemp; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Mason Kemp was an esteemed member and leader of the Logan County community where she taught school for twenty-five years; she was an Intern and Resource teacher for Logan County Schools, and at the time of her passing, she was teaching preschool at Olmstead Elementary School; she was a member of the Logan County High School Band Boosters; and she was co-sponsor of the Olmstead Academic Team and co-sponsor of the Olmstead Junior Beta Club; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Mason Kemp was an active member of the Logan County Diabetes Support Group; she was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority, serving as district officer and as state vice president-elect, and she was a charter member of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society of Women Educators; and

WHEREAS, a life spent worthily should be measured by deeds, not years, and Cynthia Mason Kemp's genuine love and concern for her family and for her fellow man is worthy of the highest commendation; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Cynthia Mason Kemp has left a void that will be difficult to fill, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the premature passing of Cynthia Mason Kemp, and extends to her family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Cynthia Mason Kemp.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Sheldon Baugh for presentation to the family of Cynthia Mason Kemp.
