Proposal Information: (Procedures for form #4R)

I.  Detailed explanation of changes (use FROM/TO format)

FROM:

No prereq related to program admission

TO:

Prerequisite: Admission to the MS, Counseling Program or consent of instructor

II.  Justification for action

The Counseling Program is a professional preparation program and there is a competitive admission process for acceptance into the program. To ensure coherence and quality, courses are available only for those persons admitted to the program. Programs of studies are developed for students that allow for intentional development as a professional counselor. Staffing is not adequate to make the courses available beyond admitted students. This action is intended to correct an error in recent course listings that do not include this prerequisite. Other prerequisites for specific courses would remain in place.
