Great weather provided an opportunity for all to enjoy a day on the course although wet conditions form rainfall during the week resulted in implementing a “lift and clean” local rule. Although we had a low turnout of 64 entries for the event, it remains a popular format for participates as a change for previous events. The net format also provided an example of providing even competition for all players as evident of the range of winners. Brian Tempas led his team that included Mike Freidrich, Jim Reineke, and Chris Drummond to win the First Flight. Brian had quite a day by also winning a gross skin, net skin and a nearie. The team of Brady Vandenberghe, Bernie Taylor, Jim Hauschild and Dave Schuh had consistent scoring in all three six hole segments to win the Second Flight by a considerable margin.
Next event is the Maroon and Gold on September 2nd in which players can select either tee. There will be an attempt to flight according to tee selection although there may be some variation may be required in order to award payoffs for net and gross scores.
