CLINICAL PHARMACIST/CLINICAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

The UIC College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice and University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health), Hospital Pharmacy Services Department seek a Clinical Pharmacist/Clinical Assistant Professor to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for initiating an antimicrobial stewardship program at UI Health.Other duties include providing clinical services for the ID-consult and ID-transplant services. The candidate will co-chair the anti-infective subcommittee and participate in the infection control committee. The candidate will also be responsible for nurse, physician, and pharmacy staff development; coordinating and conducting quality initiative projects, and developing collaborative treatment and research protocols.

A non-tenure academic faculty position (level commensurate with experience) with the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the UIC College of Pharmacy is included along with the Clinical Pharmacist position. Academic responsibilities include the provision of didactic lectures at various Health Science Colleges and precepting entry level Doctor of Pharmacy students, PGY1 residents and PGY2 residents. Scholarly activities, including presentations and publications, are an expectation as well.

Candidates must possess a Pharm.D. degree with an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency. A PGY2 residency or fellowship in infectious diseases or 2-3 years equivalent experience in the specialty area is also required. Board certification is recommended. Candidates must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for a faculty position. Candidates must be licensed with Illinois licensure as a pharmacist by the time of offer.
