PURPOSE

To delineate all of the tenets of this developmental psychology course that embraces the entire life span.

SCOPE

This course will include, but not be limited to the physiological, psychological, and sociological developmental processes that take place in the pre-natal, post-natal, infancy, young childhood, middle childhood, older childhood, puberty, adolescent, young adult, middle adult, and older adult periods of the life span. Other special areas that will be assessed are teenaged suicide, alcohol, and drug problems among the teenaged and elderly populations, death and dying, and bereavement.

ATTENDANCE

Since attendance will count as ten (10) percent of your grade, it is important that you be here. All absences must be cleared through the instructor.

EXAMINATIONS

There will be four (4) examinations: three (3) regular exams of 50 questions and one (1) final exam of 100 questions. The final exam must be taken. Failure to take the final exam will result in an automatic failure of the course. These exams will be objective, i.e., multiple choice.

GRADING

3 Regular exams @ 200 pts each=600900-1000=A

1 Final exam @ 300 pts=300800-899=B

Attendance @ 100 pts=100700-799=C

Total 1000600-699=D

Below 600=F

*There may be opportunities for extra-credit.

SCANTRON

Scantron answer sheets will be used for each test. NOTE: No problems arising from erasures or other mis-marked answers will be considered or accepted. If you err and must erase, it is suggested you use a clean answer sheet. BRING YOUR OWN SCANTRONS!
