In consideration of the University of Alberta making my thesis/dissertation (hereinafter, “my Thesis”), which includes any and all associated abstracts and supplemental files, available to interested persons, I, the undersigned, hereby grant to the University of Alberta for the full term of copyright protection, a non-exclusive license to:
(a) archive, preserve, produce, reproduce, publish, communicate, convert into any format, and to make available my Thesis in print or online by telecommunication to the public for educational, research and non-commercial purposes;
(b) sub-license to Library and Archives Canada any of the acts mentioned in paragraph (a).
I undertake to submit my Thesis through the University of Alberta, to Library and Archives Canada further to paragraph (b) above.
I represent that my Thesis is my original work, does not infringe any rights of others, including privacy rights, and that I have the right to make the grant conferred by this non-exclusive license.
If third-party copyrighted material is included in my Thesis for which, under the terms of the Copyright Act, written permission from the copyright owners is required, I represent that I have obtained such permission from the copyright owner(s) for the acts mentioned in paragraph (a) and (b) above for the full term of copyright protection.
I retain copyright ownership and moral rights in my Thesis and I may deal with the copyright in my Thesis, in any way consistent with the rights granted by me to the University of Alberta in this non-exclusive license.
I promise to inform any person to whom I may hereafter assign or license my copyright in my Thesis of the rights granted by me to
the University of Alberta in this non-exclusive license.
