STUDENT AGREEMENT
The University ...... , hereafter referred to as “Hosting University”, represented in the present contract by ...... ,
the student ……………………………………...... ……………………….. hereafter referred to as “Beneficiary”
undertake the present contract under the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility period
Barring premature termination or amendment, this agreement enters into force upon signature by all parties and terminates at the end of the CANEM II projects. The specific period of mobility (period of study abroad) is from ...... (date of arrival ) to: ..... (end of mobility).
In case of any absence in studies the Beneficiary should inform the Hosting University and academic supervisor and present relevant justification in order to get permission and agree the terms of getting a pass of classes/ programs concerned.
Upon the completion of the training program at Hosting University, the Beneficiary commits to return back to his/her home university/institution in order to continue studies and (in case of Master and higher level of study) to transfer the knowledge skills and ideas gained in Europe to professional environment, according to commitments done in post- mobility project submitted during application for CANEM II grant. Beneficiary commits to submit the post-Mundus activities feedback to the Grant Holder, ULPGC, and the Local Coordinator, KNU and to take part, if requested, in any promotion activities by sharing his/her personal and professional achievements and post-Mundus contribution to home institution, society or country.
2. Grant general terms
The Beneficiary will receive a grant funded by the European Commission of a total amount of ...... Euro per month for ...... months to be paid on a monthly basis by the Hosting University directly to bank account of Beneficiary in hosting country (except of 2 first months scholarship advance payment that will be done by Hosting University on arrival).
The beneficiary, with the help, if necessary, of theHosting University, will open a bank account in the hosting country after arrival in a bank operating at national level in the country of the Hosting University.
The Beneficiary will receive his/her scholarship only for months of the period of mobility spent on studying at the hosting institution as defined in article 1, and in accordance with the terms and conditions that are defined hereafter.
The failure of the Beneficiary to fulfill the course requirements of his/her study period abroad or any not agreed interruption of studies will result with suspension of scholarship payment and may justify a request for the reimbursement of the individual grant received.
3. Beneficiary’s academic obligations
The Beneficiary commits to complete the full mobility period for which he/she has been granted the scholarship, to attend all the courses, classes, seminars as agreed in Learning Agreement (see below) including all components of the program (educational visits, practical placement, dissertation, thesis defence, orientation and cultural programs, etc.) In case of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, a work plan set up in advance (in PhD and Post-doc mobility or post-mobility project) must be updated if necessary and must cover a full time engagement of Beneficiary in the hosting department.
In case of violation of academic or other rules of Hosting University or Erasmus Mundus Programme or this agreement by the Beneficiary, the Hosting University will introduce its standard and relevant for the case and will notify about the case the Grant Coordinator at ULPGC and to the Quality Committee, with “scholarship alert” notification, if needed, in the on-line data base which will cause suspension of scholarship payment.
The Beneficiary cannot change to another study programme on his/her own initiative and unless agreed with Hosting University and notified to CANEM II Coordinating Institution.
The Beneficiary commits to behave ethically during period of mobility and will specially avoid cheating, falsification or plagiarism of any academic work and will not perform any violation of departmental or university rules. Any incident against this compromise may cause the exclusion of the student from the CANEM II scholarship program.
The case of resignation should be based on solid grounds and duly justified by the student; an official letter should be submitted to CANEM IIlocal coordinator at Hosting University and the home university/institution must also be informed.
4. The Hosting University’s obligations
The Hosting university will use its best endeavors to provide the Beneficiary with tuition, supervision, assessment and support services of a professional standard. The relevant information concerning the structure and organization of the curriculum, its calendar, courses’ outline and their evaluation, will be provided to the Beneficiary, as well as appointment of local academic supervisor.
The Beneficiary will obtain help in administrative formalities, such as enrolment at the university, when seeking accommodation (information on costs of living, university residences, renting flats), when applying for residence permit, when setting up a bank account, and will get information on sports facilities as well as cultural and social events. Should the Beneficiary have any kind of difficulty, either academic, logistic or administrative,she/he will have to request the help from the local CANEM II coordinator or academic supervisor at hosting department.
The Hosting university will issue for the successful beneficiaries at the end of period of mobility: Transcript of Records (in case of visiting Undergraduates and Masters ) or Certificate (in case of Doctorates and Post-doctorates ) or Master’s Degree Diploma (in case of full Master’s degree seekers).
5. Reporting
The Beneficiary undertakes to submit during period of mobility to CANEM II Coordination Institution on-line reports (intermediate and final), to be used for monitoring purposes, as well as feedback about post- Mundus activities in the form requested by CANEM II Coordination Institution, to be used for promotional purposes.
The Beneficiary is obliged to submit to CANEM II Coordination Institution (via local CANEM II coordinator , via home institution or directly) travel documents (e.g. boarding passes) and documents confirming the period of study abroad ( e.g. copy of Transcript of Records , certificate or diploma obtained).
6. General terms:
Neither travel, stay nor insurance expenses nor administrative formalities for Beneficiaries’families will be incurred by the Hosting University. Only advice support may be provided for the Beneficiary in relation to the mobility of family members to the host country.
The Beneficiary cannot benefit from another scholarship or grant awarded through other European Union programmes for the period of study to which this contract applies.
The Beneficiary undertakes to spend the full time during period of study in order to achieve and complete his/her study/training programme and to refrain from any commercial or lucrative activities.
The beneficiary agrees that his/her name is made public as winner of CANEM II Erasmus Mundus Action 2 grant. For reporting issues towards the Executive Agency, the beneficiary agrees that his/her personal data will be transferred to Executive Agency’s database, as well as used for the purpose of CANEM II project management. CANEM II Coordinating Institution may invite the beneficiary for participation in promotion events/ publication, however his/her name shall not be advertised prior authorisation.
7. Jurisdiction and amendments
Failing agreement by all parties, the court of the hosting country will have sole jurisdiction in any dispute between the Hosting Institution and the Beneficiary arising out of this agreement.
Any amendment of this agreement or its annexes must be set out in written. Amendments to this agreement can be signed within eligibility period defined in article 1.
