Software Required for Unity 5.0 Installation for Exchange 2003

Before beginning the installation make sure that you have the following software:

Windows 2003 Enterprise / Any Windows 2003-CD(This used for AD)
Cisco Data Store (SQL 2000) / Cisco Data Store-CD
Cisco Message Store (Exchange 2003) / Cisco Message Store 2003-CD
Ms Office 2003
Cisco Unity 5.0 DVD 1 / Both of them are Zip files
Cisco Unity Service Packs

Instructor Guide

Pre Installation Tasks
1.a Create the first VMWARE (Active Directory)
  • 1 for The Whole Lab
  • Windows 2003 Enterprise
  • H.D = 7 GB

1.b IP Configuration :
  • IP= 131.107.2.100
  • Mask= 255.255.255.0
  • DNS= 131.107.2.100

1.c Start>Run> type Dcpromo
  • When Asked for domain name type classroom1.com
  • Accept the defaults

1.d From Active Directory Users and Computers right click on classroom1 and add new organizational units: Org1, Org2, etc
Note: Orginstr will contain the accounts for the instructor unity server; Org1 will contain accounts for Pod 1, etc…
1.e Add the following accounts in the shown organizational units and add them to the groups as shown in the table. All Passwords are : password
Account / Organizational Unit / Member of group
UnityInstallerX
X is your Pod number
Password never expires
Right Click Properties Member of to assign it to group / OrgX / Schema admins
Enterprise Admins
Domain Admins
UnityAdminX / OrgX / On the CU-x Vmware do the following for this account Local Admin
Mycomputer>manage>localusers>groups>administrator>add>select your domain>select your user
UnityDirSvcX / OrgX
UnityMsgStrX / OrgX
1.f Create new zone reverse lookup
System>Administrative Tolls>DNS>Right Click on Reverse Zone /
  • Use network ID of 131.107.2 for the lab
  • Use Non Secure Mode

2.a Create the second VMWARE (CU-x)
Note: 1 for each POD /
  • Cisco Windows 2003
  • H.D = 20 GB

2.b IP Configuration / For the lab use the following IP Configuration:
IP= 131.107.2.1xx,
Mask= 255.255.255.0,
DNS= 131.107.2.100
2.c Install the following windows components:
  • Networking services
  • NNTP in IIS service
  • SMTP Service in IIS
  • World Wide Services
(All Subcomponents)
  • Message Queuing Service
(All Subcomponents)
  • Terminal Services in IIS
(Relaxed Security)
  • All Remote administration
Note: Before install Message Queuing go to System>Settings>Control Panel>Administrative tools>Services> Double click and open services windows >Right click on NT LM Security Support Provider and select Automatic>start the service and close the window.
2.d Join the Domain:
  • Right Click on My computer > Properties > Network Identification > Properties > Change your computer name to CU-x & select in the Member of Section to be Domain: classroom1.com
  • How to Verify:
Open DOS prompt and type nslookup, you should see:- default server:main1.classroom1.com, Address: 131.107.2.100
2.e Copy both Cisco Unity 5.0 DVD 1 and Cisco Unity Service Packs and extract them. On Desktop.
Exchange 2003 Installation & Configuration
1. Login with UnityUnityinstallerX Account to the Windows and Insert Cisco Data store 2003
2. From The Auto Run Screen select “Install your first Exchange” if this is CU-1 if this is any CU-x so select “This is not the first Exchange”
3. You will see Minimum Requirements to install Exchange, Install Forest Prep with the default settings (Only for CU-1 but for other CU-x you can not find the option to install Forest Prep)
4. Install the Domain Prep also with accept the defaults
5. Install the Ms Exchange 2003 and accept the defaults
6. Remove the Cisco Data Store 2003 and Go to the folder where you unzipped “Cisco Unity Service Packs” and click on the folder Exchange 2003 SP2 and Install Exchange 2003 SP2
7. Delegate the following accounts the full control on the exchange. Go to Start -> Programs -> MS Exchange -> System manager.
  • UnityDirSvcX
  • UnityUnityinstallerX

Outlook and Excel Installation
1. Install Ms Outlook 2003 / From office 2000 CD
2. Install Voice Mail for outlook VMO / From Cisco Unity 5.0 DVD 1

Student Guide

Install Cisco Unity
A. Prepare the System with CUSPA
1. Go to the Folder “Cisco Unity Service Packs\CUSPA”
2. Double Click on “cuspa.vbs”
3. Select the Language to be English
4. Select Unified Messaging , do not check the failover option and type 2 ports
5. Follow the CUSPA and provide the Server with all required CDs (During your installation you will be asked for Data store CD to install the MSDE 2000)
Note: The MSDE SP takes too much time so do not worry
6. After CUSPA finished Go to the Folder “Cisco Unity 5.0 DVD 1\AD schema”
7. Run AD schema and wait until get pop up message states that script run successfully.
B. Install Cisco Unity Using CUICA
1. Go to the Folder “Cisco Unity 5.0 DVD 1\CUICA”
2. Double Click on “cuica.vbs”
3. Run the permission Wizard as part from CUICA :
  • Select your Cisco unity installer Account as UnityInstallerX
  • Select your Cisco unity Admin Account as UnityAdminX
  • Select your Cisco unity Message store Account as UnityMsgStrX
  • Select your Cisco unity Directory Service Account as UnityDirSvcX

4. Run Cisco Unity Installation and Choose Default settings for everything except for:
  • Language :English USA
  • Message store it should be your CU-x
  • Check the Grant DCOM check box
  • Your container is Org-x

5. Run the License configuration Wizard and select your License file
6. Run the Service Configuration Wizard but provide it with the required passwords
7. Right Click on Cisco Unity Icon on the bottom right side from your screen and stop the unity service. If you don not do so the UTIM (Unity Telephone integration Manager) Will not function.
8. Click on the UTIM to run it and type the integration parameters:
  • IP of your Cisco Call Manager = 131.107.2.150
  • MWI ON/OFF = xx01/xx02
  • Port Prefix = CISCO-UMVx
