Volunteer Job Description

Partnership Intern

The Partnership Intern will gain experience in agency and investment partner relationships. The Partnership Intern would assist the Partnership Manager in the certification and/or allocation processes related to undesignated United Way and County (HSAC) donations to local non profits. Other responsibilities would include assisting in the research and development of a list of nonprofit agencies in the area that are not current partners of United Way, revising and updating verbiage for website and other materials related to Partner Certification and Community Investment Processes, and assistance with updates to the Apricot Online Database. The Partnership Intern will report directly to the Partnership Manager. Other duties may also be assigned as needed, including assistance with administrative duties.

Duties:

·  Assist with revisions and/or updates to agency certification and allocations processes both online, and in print.

·  Research and create/update a list of nonprofits in the Escambia County jurisdiction who are not certified partners of United Way of Escambia.

·  Conduct outreach and recruitment of nonprofit agencies in the community for potential partnership relationship with United Way.

·  Assist with the review of certification application packets to ensure completeness and accuracy

·  Send email reminders to partner agencies for renewal of certification documents monthly through Apricot online portal

·  Assist with the facilitation of the UWEC Community Investment Process (Jan-May)

·  Schedule & assist with the coordination of site visits/oral presentations for all applicants for funding (UWEC & HSAC)

·  Assist with the collection, compilation, and analysis of data from quarterly reports submitted by funded agency partners

·  Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

·  Must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license with a clean record

·  Strong organizational, follow-up, analytical, and problem solving skills

·  Knowledge of and comfort with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), as well as use of the internet

·  Ability to learn Apricot online database system

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills demonstrated through consistent working relationships with fellow employees, external partners, and demonstrated dependability

·  Ability to edit, proofread, complete and assemble outreach and training materials,

·  Ability to operate standard office equipment; i.e. copiers, fax, telephone, computer and calculator

·  Willingness and ability to learn

Physical Requirements:

·  Physically, the Partnership Intern should have the capacity to be extremely mobile, therefore all physical attributes necessary for driving independently

·  Capable of lifting 35-40 pounds minimum.
