RECOMMENDED DRESS
During Graduation Week, the weather conditions at West Point can range from warm and humid to cool and rainy. The temperature in May ranges from 65 to 80 degrees. Remember that the Graduation Exercises will take place outdoors in Michie Stadium, rain or shine. For your information, the following is a suggested dress guide.
DEFINITION OF DRESS BY CATEGORY
FORMAL / Military: Army blue or white dress uniforms with black bow tie: mess blue or white uniform. Civilian:Men - Tuxedo or conservative business suit.

Graduation Week activities for cadet families and guests begin in earnest. This is a good day to tour West Point and the local area. The Visitors Center can provide maps and other information.
A visit to Constitution Island provides the opportunity to learn about the significance of Fortress West Point. During the Revolutionary War, the fortifications at West Point and Constitution Island were critical to the defense of the Hudson River Boats will shuttle visitors to and from South Dock and Constitution Island.
The Superintendent's Reception is for parents and friends of graduating cadets. The reception will take place in the Eisenhower Hall Ballroom.
A guided tour of the Superintendent’s home is available to all guests of the Superintendent’s Reception. The Superintendent invites you to attend both the reception and the house tour; the tour will be available during each reception and for an additional 45 minutes after the last reception ends. Self-guided garden tours are available all day. Transportation is provided between Eisenhower Hall and the Superintendent’s home.
The Gospel Choir Concert and Combined Choir Concert are open to all. Seating will be on a first-come, first- served basis.

The Annual Graduation Week Brides Coffee is open to brides of the Class of 2004 and to the future brides of members of the Class of 2004. Invitations will be provided in advance.
The awards presented at the Superintendent's Awards Review recognize outstanding achievement by cadet companies in military training, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
The Superintendent's Reception is for parents and friends of graduating cadets. The reception will take place in the Eisenhower Hall Ballroom.

On Graduation Day May 29, 2004, recommended parking for guest is in Lots D through F (physically challenged guests parking is in Lot H), the preferred entry gate is Stony Lonesome; however, Thayer Gate is open for access to Buffalo Soldier Field parking. From 6:00 am until 1:30 pm shuttle bus service is provided from all parking areas to Michie Stadium. After Graduation activities, shuttle buses will return parents and guests to parking areas.

Friday, May 28 - Parade Day
The Awards Convocation is in Eisenhower Hall Theater. The awards presented recognize outstanding achievement by cadets in academics, military training, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
The Graduation Parade is the last parade for the members of the Class of 2004. The class will officially depart the ranks of the Corps of Cadets. Parade seating is by ticket only. Tickets are available through members of the Class of 2004.
The Graduation Banquet is held in the Cadet Mess Hall. The banquet is followed by a formal hop in the Eisenhower Hall Ballroom. Only three guest seats are allocated to each cadet for the banquet; limited overflow seating with a video link to the banquet is available in the West Point Club and The Thayer Hotel by ticket only. Tickets are available through members of the Class of 2004.
Parents and friends attending the Awards Convocation, Graduation Parade, and Graduation Banquet will park at Buffalo Soldier Field and lots A through F. Shuttle services will provide transportation to and from all events.

Saturday, May 29 - Graduation Day
The Graduation Ceremony is held at Michie Stadium regardless of weather conditions with the exception of severe weather. The severe weather site will be Eisenhower Hall with limited seating; tickets required. On Graduation Day, Saturday, May 29, 2004, from 6:30 am to approximately 1:30 pm, vehicular access into the Central Post Area will be restricted to residents and employees of West Point and shuttle buses.
Parking for parents and guests of the 2004 USMA Graduating Class will be in the parking lots D through F and Buffalo Soldier Field. The preferred entry gate is Stony Lonesome; however, Thayer Gate will also be open to access the Buffalo Soldier Field parking area. From 7:00 am until 2:00 pm free shuttle bus service will provide transportation from all parking areas to Michie Stadium. After Graduation shuttle buses will return parents and guests to the parking areas.
Handicap passes are available through members of the Class of 2004 via USCC/S-4. Handicap parking will be located at “H” Lot, near the PX/Commissary. Buses for physically challenged persons will provide shuttle service to the handicap entrance at Michie Stadium.
Due to increased security restrictions, items such as large bags, backpacks, and umbrellas will not be allowed in Michie Stadium, so please plan accordingly. Additionally, please plan on arriving for the ceremony as early as possible in order to avoid delays.
Reserved seating for the Graduation Ceremony is available by ticket only through members of the Class of 2004. Tickets for general public seating can be obtained at the gate of Michie Stadium from 7:00 am until 9:00 am.

USMA will provide free shuttle bus service throughout Graduation Week to all main post areas. Parking in the central area of West Point is not available during normal weekday working hours. It is requested that you park at Buffalo Soldier Field (directly opposite The Thayer Hotel). From Buffalo Soldier Field we ask you to make use of the free shuttle bus service to all main post areas.

Graduation PARADE Shuttle
A special shuttle service will provide direct service between Buffalo Soldier Field and the Graduation Parade. This service will begin at 8:30 am on Friday, May 28.
Graduation BANQUET Shuttle
A special shuttle service will provide direct service between Buffalo Soldier Field and the Graduation Banquet and Hop. This service will begin at 5:30 pm on Friday, May 28.
Graduation DAY Shuttle
A special shuttle service will provide direct service between the parking areas and the stadium. This service will run from 7:00 am through 2:00 pm.

GRADUATION WEEK PARKING
The West Point Military Reservation continues to operate under a heightened security posture. All visitors should utilize Thayer Gate or Stony Lonesome Gate to access the installation. Washington Gate only allows access to vehicles possessing Department of Defense decals. Visitors are required to use the shuttle bus service at Buffalo Soldier Field and other designated locations supporting Graduation Week 2004 events. Visitors can expect minor delays while entering the installation. All adult visitors must have valid photo identification in their possession at all times while on West Point.
Parking at West Point is always difficult. By parking at Buffalo Soldier Field and using the shuttle buses provided, your trip to West Point will be more enjoyable. Handicapped parking is available at designated locations throughout West Point.
Parking of motor homes and small travel trailers is available at D Lot in the vicinity of Michie Stadium and at North Dock; no service hookups are available. The West Point Sewage Treatment Plant is available for emptying holding tanks. See Map 8for location.
