CONSULTANT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PROTOCOL FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN VICTIMS OF ABUSE, VIOLENCE, TRAFFICKING AND EXPLOITATION

UNICEF is looking for a proactive and dynamic consultant to support Equatorial Guinea’s country programme, in the area of child protection activities. The consultant will be responsible of the design of a protocol for the protection of children victims of abuse, violence, trafficking and exploitation with a view to the development of appropriate structures and mechanisms to ensure the full recognition and enjoyment of the rights of children and their protection.

REQUIREMENTS

·  The consultant must have postgraduate university diploma (master’s degree, ABD or Ph.D.) in social sciences, law, social work, public policy, international policy development or any relevant related area of study

·  Professional at least 8 (eight) years of proven experience in the work and writing on complex strategies for the adoption and implementation of legislative measures, or social policy initiatives

·  Prior experience in high level of advice on social policies and social policy

·  At least 4 (four) years of experience in qualitative analysis, especially related to the analysis and drafting of protocols; completed with research in protection of children victims of abuse, violence, trafficking and exploitation

·  Prior research on poverty and development using qualitative methods. Knowledge and use of quantitative methods, a plus

·  Prior experience in the design, monitoring and evaluation of protocols for the protection of child victims of abuse, violence, trafficking and exploitation

·  Excellent command of written and spoken Spanish language and skills and exceptional experience facilitation and consultation. English, French, or Portuguese, a plus.

·  Ability to work independently and reply to comments in a timely and professional manner

·  Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to contribute to a process of investigation of the team

The duration of the assignment is 6 (six) weeks from December 08, 2014 to January 18, 2015. The Consultant will work 6 (six) weeks on-site (based in Malabo).

The wage level P-3 of the United Nations for international consulting applies to this contract. Movements between the Continental Region (Bata) and the Insular Region (Malabo) will be in charge of the UNICEF Country Office.
