Head over to the United Arts Council for the August FirstFridayExhibit, Reception and Warm Summer Silent Auction! The August exhibit will feature the works of two Visual Art Exchange Artist Members, Alfred Harvey and The ChromaZones. The exhibit will run through the middle of August 2015. The Warm Summer Silent Auction of about eight pieces will benefit arts education in Wake County.

Photography Exhibit at WakeMed Through October 1

Photography by Herbert Battle will be on display at WakeMed on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh until October 1. This WakeMed policeman has been a photographer for decades. His color photography includes landscapes, scenes from life and moments from his day. His work is popular and relateable; his work has been exhibited numerous times.

Wake County Justice Center throughSept. 30th

From 2002, Chris Smith was Wake County's web and graphics designer until his retirement in April 2015 after a recent diagnosis of a rare, terminal form of mesothelioma cancer. An avid mobile photographer, Smith also enjoys aerial photography utilizing his drone. Seven of his photos are on display. Check out more of his workhere.

Kenneth Eugene Peters was born and reared in Laurel, Maryland. He completed a B.A. in art history and studio art at the University of Maryland. While in college he studied painting with Richard Klank for two years. Peters has exhibited throughout North Carolina, and is the co-author of three local history books:Historic Raleigh(with Jennifer Kulikowski),Historic Photos of Raleigh-Durham (with Dusty Wescott), andRemembering Raleigh(with Dusty Wescott). Tesh Parekh is a professional artist from Raleigh. He paints en plein air in both watercolors and oils. He loves painting from life and enjoys the process of painting on location, both landscapes and cityscapes. To preview his work, check out hiswebsite.

For two years, Maria Earnshaw, Liliana Berman and Leslie Foster have been painting under the direction of Alberto Ortega. Liliana has a postgraduate degree in chemistry, Maria holds a master's degree in liberal arts with a concentration in design, and Leslie holds a degree in art.
