Unit title Nail Art

This unit is designed to give learners knowledge and develop practical skills in nail painting/art application. Learners will carry out an assessment of nail painting/art on peer/model(hand) and be able to reflect on their work. Learners will demonstrate a clear understanding of the career opportunities in nails. Health, safety and environmental issues will also be explored.

This unit will include:

  • Considerations of Health and Safety Rules/Policies in the beauty salon.
  • Preparation of themselves for practical work/assessment in the beauty salon, reference to PPE, personal presentation and hygiene.
  • Preparation of work area, tools and products ensuring they are displayed correctly for easy access during practical work/ assessment.
  • Preparation of peer/model(hand) for practical work/assessment.
  • Application of nail polish and nail art products in a safe and professional manner.
  • Completion of practical work/assessment to meet the standards.
