Alexander the Great
Hero or Villain
Alexander the Great is one of the most controversial figures in history. Many see him as a great military general and visionary leader. Others see him as a ruthless conqueror. Tonight for homework, you will get to write about him from both of these viewpoints.
You will read one of the informational sheets from the perspective of a conqueror, and one from the perspective of the conquered. You can choose from two options (Persia & India).
In the box from the perspective of the conqueror, write about how Alexander would be considered a hero. Your writing will be very biased toward Alexander being a great figure in history. Beneath your writing, draw a simple symbol to represent Alexander as a hero in that event.
In the box from the perspective of the conquered, write about how Alexander would be considered a villain. Your writing will be very biased toward Alexander being a terrible figure in history. Beneath your writing, draw a simple symbol to represent Alexander as a villain in that event.
