PRESS RELEASE / 14 January 2013

Unique thermal insulation with sophisticated design

Schüco aluminium windows to passive house standard

Bielefeld/Munich. The design of sustainable building envelopes demands more than just implementing the current energy standards. In view of the challenges of climate change and amended legal adjustments, windows will be required to match concepts such as passive house or EnergyPlus. Schüco International KG successfully meets these challenges with several aluminium window systems. The Schüco Window AWS 90 BS.SI+ block series completes the Schüco range of block windows with thermal insulation to passive house standard. The Schüco AWS 112.IC (Insulation Cover) is also the first aluminium window system worldwide certified to passive house standard. In addition to thermal insulation properties to passive house standard, the new Schüco AWS 120 CC.SI composite window also offers integrated solar shading.

Schüco AWS 90 BS.SI+ optimises transparency and thermal insulation

The Schüco AWS 90 BS.SI+ block system combines the proven benefits of block windows – elegant design and maximum transparency – with the highest thermal insulation requirements. Attractive glazing sight lines without visible window vents can be created with a Uf value to 1.2 W/(m²K) and narrow face widths from 95 mm. This block system shows that efficient thermal insulation, maximum vent weights and sophisticated design can be combined well together.

Schüco AWS 112.IC ensures thermal standards of tomorrow

The Schüco AWS 112.IC aluminium window system has been certified by the passive house institute in Darmstadt. It allows for a thermal insulation value of Uw≤ 0.80 W/(m2K) to be achieved for the entire window with a prescribed glass value of Ug = 0.7 W/(m²K). In addition to the highly thermally insulated base construction, the fixing of an insulated cover profile that prevents thermal bridging ensures outstanding energy efficiency. Schüco is the first system provider to combine the well-known benefits of aluminium windows, such as stability, high structural requirements, a wide range of surface finish options and durability, with a level of thermal insulation which was previously only possible with timber or PVC-U windows. Schüco AWS 120 CC.SI with integrated solar shading for efficient modernisation

The high degree of built-in comfort and climate functions make the optimised Schüco AWS 120 CC.SI composite window the perfect overall package for window modernisation in particular. It has solar shading integrated in the space between panes for weather protection. The profile construction is ideally tailored to the composite internal blinds. This has made it possible for the first time to meet the high design expectations of leading architects. This means that neither the header/base profile nor the side tensioning cord guide of the solar shading is visible from the outside. It also allows for simple installation of the solar shading quickly and free from thermal bridging without the need for tools. The combination of the Schüco modernisation outer frame for efficient window modernisation, an integrated Schüco ventilation system as well as the mechatronic Schüco TipTronic fitting opens up additional energy saving potential by means of demand-driven hybrid ventilation.
