Uniform / Dress Code Information Packet

2016-2017
Girls- may wear the black uniform polos (with SJD logo) on days they do not work and non-mass days. The black button blouse must be worn on workdays but may also be worn on school days in place of the polo. On Mass days, [G1]girls must wear the white button blouse with three-quarter sleeves and the SJD logo and is worn with the girl’s tie and the uniform skirt. The white blouse is ONLY for Mass days. *Please buy one or two additional ties as a backup in the event one is misplaced.[G2]*Note: Girls must wear a solid white camisole/tank top or another undershirt with white uniform blouse.[G3]
** Girls Please Note: The gray skirts are no longer allowed & a[G4]ll girls must have a plaid uniform skirt and is to be worn for mass.Be sure to purchase a size/length that allows room for growth. Keep in mind that once the skirt length is more than 1 inch above the knee it will need to be altered or replaced to fit properly in order to continue wearing it to school. [G5]
*Please *Note: skirts must ALWAYS be worn with a pair of spandex shorts in solid black, white or gray underneath.[G6][G7]
3. Boys- may wear their black uniform polos (with SJD logo) on days they do not work and non-mass days. The white button down shirt must be worn on workdays and Mass days with the school tie with teal & maroon stripes.Please buy one or two additional ties as students will not be allowed to wear ties that are stained, torn, falling apart or do not appear neat and professional in any manner.
4. Shoes- for girls- only the following options will be allowed: professional-looking, solid black flats. A flat that has a small simple decoration is okay if the shoe and the decoration are all black. Another option is a solid black leather Sperry boat shoe. Girls must wear black or gray knee socks. For boys-only the following options will be allowed: professional-looking, solid black dress shoes or solid black leather Sperry boat shoes. Only black socks may be worn.
5. Girl’s & Boy’s Pants- There are only two options for the required uniform pants. One option is from Parker Uniforms and must be purchased through Parker. The other option for pants is from Kohls. They are "Apt. 9" brand. There are many different colors and styles for this brand but only the styles that are professional in appearance are allowed. They must also fit properly for example; they cannot be too tight, too loose, too long or too short (above the ankle). [G8]
Both men's and women's pants are offered in black and gray. [G9]Sometimes there is a lighter gray (silver) but please look for a dark gray.[G10][G11][G12][G13][G14]
I have included pictures of the pants that are more of a professional style. Both men's and women's pants are “Apt. 9” brand which is a Kohl's brand which means it is carried in stores year-round and may be purchased in-store & on the Kohl's.com website. Kohl’s rotates their sales about every 10 days so if you do not find the Apt. 9 brand on sale this week then check back next week. Kohl’s also offers daily digital coupons online or on the Kohl’s App on your smartphone. You can save more if you use your Kohl’s card.
*Boys & Girls must wear a plain, black, leather belt with their pants.*
ALL SJDCHS STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR
THEIR SJD ID & LANYARD DAILY.
Students must abide by the uniform detailed below, as well as all expectations on appearance and all other policies included in the San Juan Diego Catholic High School Parent-Student Handbook.
*All uniform / dress code policies will be strictly enforced at all times. Below you will find the ONLY items and the expectations on appearance that will be accepted. Please assume that anything not included in the Uniform/Dress Code Policy is NOT part of the SJDCHS uniform / dress code and will, therefore, NOT BE ALLOWED.[G15] The proper disciplinary consequences will result for dress code violations.
