EVENT OVERVIEW
Once a year, the Coggin College of Business Career Management Center hosts recruiters from regional and national companies at the UNF University Center to conduct over 400 one-on-one interviews with current students and recent alums of the Coggin College of Business that have an interest in finance related careers.
Candidates are asked to register and submit a resume. Resumes books are sent to recruiters who have an opportunity to look them over and request interviews with specific candidates using a ranking system (#1 being their first choice). Students will also have an opportunity to request an interview with specific companies using the ranking system.
Preferences of recruiters and students are entered into a mathematical model that computes an interview schedule based on these preferences. For example, if a recruiter picks a student as their #1 choice and the student picks the company as their #1 choice they are guaranteed to have an interview.
If there is a student that you are interested in who is not on your interviewing schedule, please feel free to contact them directly using the information provided on their resume to arrange a meeting outside of Finance Career Day or to try to meet with them during the lunch break.
Students are urged research the companies they are interested in and prepare for an interview. However it is not unusual that last minute changes to the interview schedule will give recruiters a chance to sit down with students that were not on the original list.
Interviews are held in 25 minute time blocks with a 5 minute break between sessions. A break area will be set up with refreshments throughout the day. A boxed lunch will be available at 12:00noon. Feel free to eat with your colleagues and the students, or use the time as a working lunch.
