Caseworker

Plus weekly delivery from outreach locations in Mansfield and Worksop
Hours: / 30 hours per week initially - possibly with scope to increase to full time hours in future
Salary: / £21,268 - £23,398 pro rata
Contract: / Permanent
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The postholder will provide one-to-one support and guidance to women – with a specific focus on ex-offenders - and develop, run and administrate 1-2-1 interventions and group programmes for this client group.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Undertake in‐depth assessments to identify client’s needs andnegotiate individual plans,liaising with other agencies as required (for example offender managers).
  • Provide IAG (Information Advice and Guidance) to clients and help clients to engage with other services where needed.
  • Effectively manage a caseload to ensure that each client receives an appropriate level of support and is enabled to progress and achieve their individual goals.
  • Coordinate and timetable various aspects of intervention and support within the Centre, liaising with local voluntary and statutory agencies such as homelessness and substance misuse services.
  • Plan, deliver and administrate in-house 1-2-1 and groupprogrammes to clients
  • Maintain knowledge of, and relationships with, other local service providers and signpost clients as appropriate.
  • Liaise with funders & project partners, attend meetings and maintain records as required.
  • Monitor outcomes, provided regular written feedback to other agenciesand contribute to the continual evaluation of the project.
  • Promote our activities to external agencies and potentials referrers such as Job Centre Plus, Community Rehabilitation Company and Probation Trust staff and the Courts.
  • Deliver training to other staff as appropriate.
  • To undertake outreach work within the community to publicise the work of the Centre and to encourage women from a range of demographics to use its services and facilities.
  • Contribute to the fundraising and development strategy of the Women’s Centre.
  • Induct and supervise any volunteers who support the work of the project.
  • Ensure that all work is carried in accordance with relevant legislation and Nottingham Women’s Centre policies and procedures, including the Centre’s Equality and Diversity policy and Health and Safety Policy.
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of safeguarding for the clients, volunteers and staff, paying particular attention to the sharing of information and professional boundaries
  • Participate in training and development as required.
  • Act as an effective team member and attend and contribute to staff meetings.
  • Carry out other duties as directed by the Centre Manager and the Board of Trustees.

This post will require an Enhanced DBS check. Having a criminal record will notnecessarily disqualify you from acquiring the post.
Due to the nature and sensitivity of the projects client group, it is anoccupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9for the post holder to be female.
Essential / Preferable
Qualifications /
  • IAG Level 3 or higher (or prepared to work towards this)
  • PTTLS level 2 or higher(or prepared to work towards this)

Experience /
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults and diverse groups on a 1-2-1 and/or group basis
  • Experience of delivering IAG sessions
  • Experience of developing others’ skills and motivation

  • Experience of working with offenders/ex-offenders
  • Experience of working with unemployed/job seekers
  • Experience of developing and delivering training sessions
  • Experience of supporting volunteers

Skills & Knowledge /
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competent IT user (including MS Office package)
  • Excellent time management skills including the ability to manage a caseload and work unsupervised
  • Able to motivate, influence and persuade, and quickly establish positive relationships with people from a range of backgrounds
  • Ability to hold appropriate boundarieswith clients

  • Knowledge of training theory and practice
  • Knowledge of CBT principles
  • Knowledge and understanding ofthe criminal justice system andprobation service

  • Willing and able to work outside normal office hours as required
