Trust Assessment: Individual to God

This questionnaire is designed to help you assess your trusting level with God and discover areas where you may want to take a step toward Him. The orientation is your trust in God. It is built upon two overarching categories of trust, Trustworthiness and Trust Readiness. Each of these two categories has three elements.

C. The following questions will help you assess your trust in God from the perspective of the two categories and the three elements found in each category. The contrasting descriptions are designed to provoke your thinking regarding your trust in God. For each row, indicate what point on the continuum (from 1 to 4) best describes your relationship with God. Circle your answers and calculate your totals for each element of trust.

TRUSTWORTHINESS
Capability – Is God capable?
1. I attempt to hide my shortcomings from God. / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / I am honest about my shortcomings and bring them to the Lord.

10. God occasionally concerns Himself with my struggles. / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / I am of God’s chief concerns and his love for me is immeasurable.
11. God acts without consideration for me. He has bigger issues. / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / God plans for me and I am in God’s plans.
12. God’s commitments lie outside of our relationship. / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / God’s love for me is eternal,unbounded and unlimited.
13. Given my sin, sometimes God writes me off. / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / God’s grace has washed away all my sin.
14. Sometimes God works against me for the benefit of other concerns. / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / God is my number one supporter.

Consistency – Is God consistent?

Willingness to Invest – Actively investing in our relationship?
21. God has little time for me. And my life is pretty full too. / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / God has endless time for me and wants me to be with Him for eternity.

Willingness to Examine Assumptions –Knowing what is real?

Willingness to Risk – Am I willing to risk on God?

35. I been let down before, I hesitate to trust God again. I’ve taken falls before. / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / God has my welfare as His concern, he will not let me fail.

Assessing the Results
