Freshman Scholarship Application 2016-2017
The School of Oceanography offers numerous need-based and merit-based undergraduate scholarships including:
- Need-based awards monetarily equivalent to as much as three quarters of in-state tuition
- Merit-based book and supplyof $500 or more
Our generous scholarship donors have made funds available for general and specialized applicants. Students are encouraged to review the list of scholarships on the website and address any specific criteria that may qualify them for particular awards in their personal statement.
Applications for freshmen scholarships are accepted and funds are awarded on a rolling basis. Interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as they have been admitted to the University of Washington. Scholarship recipients must enroll in the School of Oceanography and make satisfactory progress towards a degree in Oceanography. Students receiving financial aid should contact the UW Financial Aid Office regarding how winning a scholarship might affect their award.
How to Apply
Please submit one packet containing the following:
- page 2 of this application
- a one-to-two page personal statement (see page 2)
- a copy of your high school transcript
- copies of other college-level transcripts (if appropriate).
