Elie Sports Club 62nd Open Amateur Golf Tournament

Conditions of Tournament

The Tournament will be held over the Elie Courses from

Monday 7th April – Wednesday 9th April 2014

Check-in on the day of play at the Pro’s Shop

There will be seven sections to the Tournament with the qualifying date for age being 1st January 2014:

(a)Boys under 18The Andrew S. Burns Cup Entry £15.00

(b)Boys under 16 The Marine Hotel Rose Bowl Entry £13.00

(c)Boys under 14 The Sports Club Cup Entry £12.00

(d)Boys under 12 The Malta Cup Entry £11.00

(e)Girls under 18 Todd Cup Entry £15.00

(f) Girls under14 The Lochburn Quaich Entry £12.00

(g) Girlsunder 12 The Crummey Cup Entry £11.00

Competitors in Groups (a), (b), (c) and (e)will compete by MATCH PLAY on ELIE LINKS on Mon. 7th, Tues. 8th and Wed. 9thApril. Each match shall consist of one round of 18 holes played to a finish.

If, in any section, entry numbers are not sufficient, two medal rounds of 18 holes will be played, one on Tuesday 8th and the other on Wednesday 9thApril.

Competitors in Groups (d), (f) and (g) will compete by MATCH PLAY over 18 holes over the BAIRD COURSE, ELIE SPORTS CLUB on Monday 7th, Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9thApril. If, in any section, entry numbers are not sufficient, two medal rounds of 18 holes will be played, one on Tuesday 8th and another on Wednesday 9thApril

Competitors may enter any section applicable to their age and will be confined to the section entered.

On Sunday 6th April competitors may play without charge all day on the 9-hole course and on the 18-hole course after 2.30 p.m. by arrangement with the Starter. If possible, ‘Three Balls’ should be arranged.

All competitors are reminded of the dress regulations that are required by the Golf House Club.

All competitors must report to the Starter on arrival not less than 20 minutes before their tee off time.The Winner of each match is responsible for reporting the results to the Starter IMMEDIATELY on completion of the match.

The Tournament will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by The R&A and by Local Rules of the applicable course (Elie Links or the Baird Course). In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Committee will be final.

A Challenge Trophy to be held for one year will be awarded along with other prizes in all groups.All trophies awarded the previous year must be returned to the Professional’s Shop one week before the start of the competition.

The Prize Giving will be held in the Golf House Club at 4.30 p.m. approximately on Wednesday 9thApril

Condition of Competition – Caddies: A player is prohibited from using a caddie during the stipulated round. Penalty for Breach of Condition – see page 140, Rules of Golf.

Note: Spectators are asked to watch from a reasonable distance and no advice may be given to a player
