In order to be in-country for the beginning of the placement on Sunday 18th March 2018 please note the following:

OUTBOUND FROM THE UK:

Leave the UK on FRIDAY16th or Saturday 17th March BOARDING AN EVENING OR EARLY MORNING FLIGHT

RETURN FROM UGANDA:

Leave Entebbe NO EARLIER THAN 8PM ON SUNDAY 25th MARCH TO ALLOW TIME TO TRAVEL FROM THE PLACEMENT TO THE AIRPORT. IF YOUR FLIGHT IS ON MONDAY WE CAN ARRANGE AN OVERNIGHT STOP IN KAMPALA OR AT THE AIRPORT

Emirates and Kenya airways fly to Entebbe with the flights currently costing approximately £500, although this is subject to change. You will be advised of flight options upon booking and will be responsible for arranging this directly. Please do not book your flight until your place on the programme has been confirmed.

Uganda Leadership Pioneers is a seven-day executive training programme that provides participants with hands-on experienceof working in Uganda. It partners UK public, private and voluntary sector professionals with leaders from the Ugandan health sector to create jointteams that work together to improve service delivery at health centres in some of the most remote and deprived regions of Eastern Uganda.

You will be invited to join a telecom with Julie Saunders from Pepal and Sue Hopgood from CSLE by the end of January 2018. This will be an initial briefing about the programme including information about visas, medical requirements such as malaria tablets and injections, managing money in-country and provide an opportunity to ask questions.
