U10s Have Also Managed to Play 3 Fixtures This Month

February was a difficult month due to a number of games being postponed due to weather conditions and waterlogged pitches. However there were still lots of positives to take away from it for all Academy sides.

Highlights of the month were U8s & 9s sides travelling to Crewe Alexandra to play there Academy sides in friendly matches in which both age groups performed extremely well with good comments being made from Crewe Alexandra staff. Both games very even with U8s losing 4-3 & U9s winning 5-4. The sides have also played 2 other fixtures each during the month.

U10s have also managed to play 3 fixtures this month.

1st game seen them face CQ Nomads which they were narrowly beaten 4-3, they also played against Flint Town which seen them win 4-3 and also Conway Borough which again seen them come away 7-3 winners. However it was performance which came 1st as always with our Academy sides and the month seen some excellent displays from the side.

U11s played a couple of fixture against CQ Nomads & Flint Town.

The 1st came against CQ Nomads on the all-weather pitch in very difficult conditions the side played some excellence football. The game finished 7-4 to Rhyl and seen goal of the month scored by Archie Jones. They then faced Flint Town in which seen a very close even tie and a late Luca Bennett hat trick seen the score finish 4-4.

U12s only managed to play 1 fixture this month due to bad weather. This seen them take on The New Saints in the FAW Academy Cup. The side faced there 1st defeat of the season losing 4-2.

A bad month for U13s & 15s sides not managing to have any fixtures due to bad weather and waterlogged pitches with 3 fixtures all being postponed over the month. Hopefully this will encourage a 3G pitch for next season.

U14s only had 1 fixture over the February period. They also faced The New Saints in the FAW Academy Cup the game seen them come from 3-1 behind to win 8-3 with some fantastic football.

U16s also took on The New Saints in the FAW Academy Cup. The game was always going to be difficult going into with The New Saints side being very strong and this proved to be the case as the game finished 7-0.

Well done to Aled Reece Williams on his trial with Wrexham FC Academy he is now the 8th player this season to have earned a trial.

February Players of the Month

As always Academy player of the month awards are presented on the 1st week of each month. February Academy player of the month awards will be announced and presented tonight in training.

Strength & Conditioning sessions

Under 15s – Monday 3rd March – 45 mins – Kettle Bell session

Under 14s – Monday 10th March – 45 mins – Spinning session

Under 16s – Monday 24th March - 45 mins – Agility Session

Last 2 months has seen some vast improvement made by players due to Strength & Conditioning session delivered by Coach Sarah Ruffley. The partnership made with the Leisure Centre is proving to be a massive step for Academy.

U8s-U11s Manchester Tour U12s-U16s Dublin Tour presentation date for final itinerary & information confirmed for THURSDAY 13TH MARCH.

As you will all know for a 2nd year running Rhyl FC Academy will be running football tours for all age groups within the Academy. Last season our U8s-12s tour Manchester visiting Man City, Old Trafford etc. as our U13s - 16s travel to London to Chelsea FC, Fulham FC.
This year will see:
U8s-U11s travel to Manchester for 2 nights 3 days from Thurs 24th- Sat 26th April.
U12s-16s travel to Dublin for 3 nights 4 days from Wed 16th - Sat 19th April.
Our Presentation will be held on Thursday 13th March at the Legends Lounge Corbett Sports Stadium.
U8s - U11s Manchester - 5.45pm-6.45pm
U12s - U16s Dublin - 7.15pm - 8.15pm
All players & parents who attending the tour are to be in attendance for this presentation.
During the presentation players and parents will receive a full itinerary of tour and what is needed for the tour in terms of kit etc.
All players are to complete tour payment on the evening of the presentation.
Anyone who is not in attendance is to let myself know ASAP.
