TYSA - Meeting Minutes

Attending: Adam Boisvert, Rich Defronzo, Peter Dejardians, Derek Gregoire, Cheryl McCarthy, Jay McGaffigan, Deidre Moran, Rob Strong, GP Demari, Dave Seltz, Tina Stamp, Dinis Anselmo
1.Reviewed minutes from February meeting - voted and APPROVED
2.U16 + tryouts complete - teams being finalized
3.Dave’s update on Director of Player & Coach Development
* Tom gave preliminary plan
* Need to confirm when the clinics will take place
4.Registration
* U8 a little short
* Need plan to try to get new kids interested in signing up for soccer
* Rosters need to get put into system
* Schedule coaches meeting for U6, U8, U10
* Need list of coaches
* Rich is sending link to everyone re: CORI checks
5.Fields
* Get updates to coaches to keep parents informed on field availability
* Peter will ask for more time on Pierce field
6.TYSA scholarship
* Cheryl updating brochure and application
* Set up committee to vote on recipients - Deidre, Kristin, Adam
7.Things that need to be done before start of season
* Coaches meeting
* Review rules
* New coaches stay for more info
* Coaches night - U6, U8, U10 mandatory attendance
8.Shirts for board - no action at this time
9.Opening day - field day
* Will discuss again at next meeting
10.Other business
* Peter - working on permits, needs volunteers for field maintenance, considering using HS kids to fulfill their community hours
* Kristin - 2 brothers (U6 & U8) - parent requested they be placed on the same team
* Cheryl - ?PO Box - Rich just picked up mail - will remind to check again as scholarship apps can be sent to PO Box as well as email
* GP - equipment distribution schedule - ?3/28 depending on field and ability to reach the equipment area, will follow up with coordinators, needs some new pennies and balls
* Jay - OK
* Dinis - OK
* Derek - working with Kristin on schedules
* Tina - working with other coordinators to get ready
* Deidre - took ref coordinator course, ? if we need a back up, will work with Rich to get familiar with process and system
* Adam - coaches all set for older players, noted tryout issues (players not showing up for tryouts, not taking seriously, has some HS players who would like to help coach, girls team should be selected late Friday (3/13), has HS Twitter account he can use for getting info out
* Rob - Greg Quinn has handled tryouts - ? if Tom can help with that this year
ACTION ITEMS:
* Peter needs registration info for volunteers to help with the fields
* Dave - finalize night of clinics, work with coordinators, coach clinic pre-season (for new coaches)
* Everyone needs to be CORI checked - coaches/board members
* Adam - will distribute scholarship brochure & application to coaches and print out copies for HS
