Troy Youth Hockey Association
The Tyler Teasdale Scholarship Fund was established to encourage and assist deserving current and /or former Troy Youth Hockey Association team players to further their education at an accredited two- or four-year college or university. This scholarship is named for Tyler who played house hockey at Troy for four years and passed away from a virus that attacked his heart at the young age of 12.

Scholarship Criteria

§  Plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Preference will be given to applicants attending schools within the state of Michigan.

§  Be a former member of the Troy Youth Hockey Association for at least three complete seasons

§  Have a high school grade point average of at least a 2.2 on a 4.0 scale

Application Process

§  Submit a completed application form and include the following attachments:

An official certified transcript (high school or college)*

*First year college students should also include an official high school transcript

List of community service, co-curricular activities, honors and employment history

An essay outlining why you are deserving of the scholarship - one page, typed, double-spaced

Participate in a personal interview with the TYHA Board

Size and frequency of the Scholarship

A $1,000 scholarship will be offered annually. However, the Selection Committee may elect not to award a scholarship if, in its judgment, a suitable candidate cannot be identified.

Use of the Scholarship

The scholarship may be used for tuition and related educational expenses.
