How can I enter the event? Please enter online via the registration link on the event page:

When will entries close? Entries will close by midnight onWednesday 7th September 2016

Can I enter over the phone? Entry is restricted to online registration only

Are there entries on the day? No there will not be entries permitted on the day (only on the fun run)

How do I know if my online entry worked? You will receive an automated confirmation by email

What is the bus transport for? Regularshuttle buses for runners will be available from both finish locations (10K and the Half Marathon) back to the start after the race. Hot food will be available back at the START venue in Aylesbury

Can spectators use the shuttle buses back to the start? This is unlikely as the buses will be full of runners who will have priority over non-runners.

How much is it to book the bus? Free

What are the withdrawal and refund details? Please see terms & conditions on event webpage

Can I transfer my entry to another athlete? Yes – up until 2 weeks before event day. Please see the terms and conditions on the event web page

How/when will I receive my race pack? No race packs will be sent out in the post – you can pick up your race pack from registration on event day. Please see RUNNERS INFORMATION PACK for details

Are there any age restrictions? You must be at least 15 years of age for the 10k and a minimum of 17 years of age for the marathon on event day. All ages are welcome at the Family Fun Run taking place at 12 noon at the Start Venue.

Am I allowed to raise money for a nominated charity? The race's nominated charity is Canal & River Trust, however, you are of course welcome to raise money for whichever charity you choose. If you do wish to raise money for the Canal & River Trust and to enable gift aiding by each individual donor it is advised that you use a similar donation facilitation site.

ON THE DAY

What is a 'Point-to-Point' race? This means that the race starts and finishes at different points. The Start for both the HALF MARATHON & 10K is at Oakfield Road Park, Aylesbury HP20 1LL. The HALF MARATHON FINISH is at John Colet School in Wharf Road Wendover HP22 6HF. See Runners Information pack for details.

Can you get to either/both by public transport? Yes see Runners Information pack for details.

Is there parking? It is recommended that you park in Aylesbury (Information Pack for details) and take advantage of the free shuttle bus service back to Aylesbury at each finish location.

What time should I arrive on the day? Registration opens at 08:00 and the HALF MARATHON starts at 10am. The 10K starts at 11am. We recommend that you arrive as early as possible to avoid last minute panics

What will I be given on the day? You will receive your race number and your chip. Your race number should be pinned with four safety pins to the FRONT of your running top. Please do not obscure it at any time. If you don’t have safety pins, there will be some at registration. Your chip may be on the back of your number or it may be a tie-on chip – you will be given full instructions when you receive it

Is there anywhere I can leave my bag while I'm competing? Yes, there will be a baggage storage room at the start where you can leave a small bag.

Are there toilets available? Yes, there will be toilet provision on-site

Are there showers at the finish? Sorry, no showers

What other facilities are there? There will be toilets, a catering outlet for both before and after your race and a massage tent at the finish

Are there toilets along the route of the course? There will be toilets at the 10K finish which also forms part of the Half Marathon route

Can I wear headphones? No this race is held exclusively on a canal towpath, you will be disqualified if you are seen wearing earphones and your results will not be recorded.

Is there any first aid on the course? There is full medical back-up for the event

Are there any water stations on the course? Yes, there will be water stations along the route (on each ‘arm’ and at the start and finish)

How does the 'WAVE' start work?

In order to avoid congestion on the towpath, runners we will be starting the race in LETTER designated waves of approximately 50 runners every 30 seconds. The official route includes a loop of the park in order to prepare runners for the towpath.

You will be emailed before race day with your Wave Letter – the allocation of letters will be based on your suggested race finish time, with fastest going first. Your race time starts when you cross the mat on the start line.

Please note that it is not possible to change waves on the day – your race number will denote which wave you should be in and you will not appear in the results if you start in the wrong wave.

Is there a time limit on finishing the race? There is no cut-off time to complete the course. However, the marshals will be stood down after 3 hours; if you are still running by that time, please be aware that there will be no marshals at junctions and you will need to follow the signage

AFTER THE RACE

When and where will the results be published? A link to the 'Results' will be posted on the event website as soon as possible after the event

When and where will the photos be published? A link to the 'Photos' will be posted on the event website as soon as possible after the event

Are there food or refreshments at the event? Yes, you will be able to buy coffee, tea, food, etc, before and after the race

Are there any prizes? Yes – prizes are awarded to the first three male & female finishers plus first male and female veteran in each race distance

Will I get a medal at the finish? Yes all finishers will receive a fantastic medal and goody bag
